Re: Let's talk Favorite pair of bikini underwear
Any guys on here consider themselves religious at all? I'm curious if there are because I am and I love bikini underwear. I'm just wondering if there's others out there like me that sometimes wrestle with the 'moderation' aspect...

Me as well. Religion I feel is not concerned about what kind of underwear I wear, it’s what kind of beliefs and values I have.

That is a really interesting subject you have touched upon and one that, to the best of my knowledge, hasn't been mentioned here or on The Bottom Drawer. The idea of modesty in clothing is one that many religions teach and there are some faiths that encourage their followers to wear clothing that is specific to that particular faith, be it head and face covering, robes that cover most of the body or sacred undergarments to name a few examples.
I do have personal experience of being a member of a religious group(which shall remain nameless), that taught that wearing clothing that exposed the body unnecessarily was frowned upon by God,which is,I suspect,a view held by many of today's religious groups.Hard as it was for me to cease from wearing my preferred styles of underwear on a daily basis for a more conservative style,I did it,but I suppose my act of rebellion was that during the summer months I would wear bikini swim briefs when sunbathing rather than the board shorts that were favoured by the powers that be.
I would say to anyone struggling with how their particular faith might view their liking for body revealing underwear/swim wear to follow their conscience and remember that we all come in to this world naked and most of us will leave it the same way. And if there is a judgement day,it should be based on the good things you did in this life, particularly for your fellow inhabitants(both human and animal),rather than the underwear you chose to wear!

Re: Let's talk Favorite pair of bikini underwear
I appreciate everyone's response as I often think about my personal faith and clothing preference. I just find it interesting how society (in North America anyway) it is so boxer or boxerbrief focused. I have said it before on this blog but it seems that we are so puritanical in that regard here. I find myself to be such a contradiction sometimes being a guy that is religious and holding conservative views yet apparently my taste in underwear is not 'conservative' or do I have it all wrong? How come guys that wear bikini or thong underwear are immediately suspected of being male strippers in media...it seems we are portrayed that way!? But is it possible to be or feel 'sexy' and religious at the same time? I actually ask God these things to be honest. I have struggled with the same contradictions I have mentioned....with seeing some images online of guys in bikini or thong as sexual objects for example. It seems that speedos/bikini underwear has become 'sexualized' ...would you guys agree? I guess that is what I wrestle with. Its a funny contradiction how women can be made to be sexual objects in the media if they're wearing a bikini swimsuit but it also seems that way (or worse) for guys! The body shaming culture upsets me! I think we in North America are probably the worst for it! In Europe I found a much much more body accepting culture...that was very cool to see.
Re: Bikinis & Religion
T is right. I have not discussed religion and underwear or swimwear on the blog. I consider myself religious, but I don't relate what I wear to my religion. I see it as my actions and intent that matters.

Hey guys, thanks for hearing me out on my rant...hope I didn't go overboard : ) Interesting to hear peoples feeback though. Bikini Underwear is Awesome!!!
Re: Bikinis & Religion
A few years ago here (AU) a high-up cleric (so an older male who should have been wiser) in one of the religions stated a personal opinion that he thought that women here were "just bits of meat" referring to them wearing bikinis in public. He was deported, with this sort of personal opinion often masquerading as religious fact, and a bit of outrage that followed his statement. I doubt anyone stopped wearing a bikini because of it. So maybe a bit of proof that clothing really should have no bearing on having sensible attitudes and care towards fellow humans and other animals, which is what any decent society, religious or not, should be aiming for.
Re: Bikinis & Religion
When you consider that a lot of men back in Bible times wore an undergarment that closely resembled a thong or a big diaper, I don't think that anybody is going to hell for wearing bikini underwear or a thong under their clothes. It is something that only your wife is going to see.
Swimwear is a different issue. I don't think The Lord would want us wearing anything out in public that will cause others to have lustful thoughts and tempt them to sin.
