On my first muliple stop international trip in a few years. Amazing how much space thongs, g's and bikinis save you.

Jonathan, enjoy your trip, and ROCK your "Barely-There" attire. Let us know about the most welcoming places for microwear, as well as who was the hottest and "least-clad" man and woman you enjoyed seeing! Enquiring minds want to know!

We're headed to Greece and Italy for three weeks very soon. I have only lightweight bikinis laid out for the trip.

True but I still find it difficult choosing which suits to pack - at least we can take more!

I think some won't necessarily return from Europe with me, hopefully for the best of reasons.

We just returned from a three week trip to Greece and Italy. I packed only my skimpiest bikini briefs in very lightweight nylon or similar fabrics. They took up very little room in my carry-on and were a breeze to rinse out in the hotel bathroom when I was running low in the last week. I also took and wore two speedo suits. One at the hotel pool one day and one at the beach another day. Unfortunately, I only got two days in the entire trip to wear those.

I also think the skimpier ones are great for travel; I don't wear thongs often but string bikinis are the usual selection, so that is the travel choice, as it is the "everything else I do" choice! Of course, I've also had my carry-on gone through a few times for "supplemental" screening. At Heathrow, they do a VERY thorough job going through your carry-on...right in front of thousands of people and who knows how many surveillance cameras...not even counting the "no belt, pants sliding slowly down" effect.

A couple of times that I beeped going through screening also created a few interesting moments. German airport security, in particular, had absolutely no problem with plunging their hands down inside my jeans, but they haven't been the only ones. I'm not sure how many were surprised by this, although I do remember one time when the screener was like feeling around my right hip, patting it, as if not being able to believe that I was wearing string bikini briefs.
