Branded Thongs - no thanks!

Post by outside_time »

I went shopping online today, and frankly, bought nothing. Maybe it's just me, but if a manufacturer wants to advertise on MY body, I'll need to be compensated for being a walking billboard. What's with the huge brand names on the waistband, and the huge logos on the package area? Hey, this is about ME here! I don't want eyes on my package trying to figure out what that logo means. Not on my backside either.

I've bought some products that had a label sewn on that I could remove, and that's fine, but a bit of a pain. But if they're going to print their name in 60pt letters, I'm just not buying.

So my search now is for style, color, material and LACK of branding.

Anyone else?

I have a number of thongs with no branding on them.

A few brands you may want to explore are:
Cocksox
Muscleskins
KoalaSwim

All of these brands have options available with no branding.

In years gone by it was considered somewhat socially unacceptable for men to display the bare flesh above their socks and below the hem of their trousers when they crossed their legs. Similarly, it was deemed unacceptable for men to display their underwear above their trousers. I'm guessing that most people only became aware of branded underwear when the ridiculous craze of guys wearing their trousers and jeans slung so low meant that you couldn't avoid seeing the brand of their underpants when they bent over. Suddenly it became fashionable to proudly display that you wore CK, Armani and any number of brands, and more and more companies saw the potential to advertise their wares by highlighting their names on the exposed waistbands.
I thought this was a fairly recent development in the underwear world, but before I wrote this comment, I checked my undies and realised that many years ago companies like Kiniki did have their name on the front of some of their waistbands, although thankfully not repeated the whole way round like some do now! Some of my favourite G-strings also have a small name above the pouch, and Daniel Alexander have their initials on the actual pouch. That might bother some, but I like them so much, it doesn't bother me.
When it comes to swimwear, companies like Aussiebum and Budgy Smugglers don't shy away from advertising their names on their products, and I'm not aware if that has a negative effect on their sales. Other companies may have an identifiable symbol rather than a name(JJMalibu/pineapple).
When I checked my very first swim thong bought about 40 years ago, the name Hom was embossed in small letters on the side of the pouch, but they were a high end name in those days.
I can understand guys not wishing to advertise these big companies on their bodies, and I'm not a fan of large waistbands with or without logos, but occasionally you will see a guy on social media wearing a bikini etc that really catches your eye and you just wish there was a small nametag that would help you identify the brand.

I agree, massive waistbands and big letters. Tacky and often uncomfortable.

My tiny flat-front thongs have no room for a brand name, and barely enough room for me. I usually have to remove the rear tag so it doesn't become a tail.

It's one thing I understand but also wish wasn't that way. For specialized hobbies or interests, sometimes you find posts or videos that have all the specs laid out or at least partially, it's something that's really helpful if you dug it! For social media fellow mens skimpy underwear enthusiasts and/or models, there is a big lack of what they're wearing. We all know every brand's cut, color shade, profile is very different. Sometimes there's really good looking pairs but no info on them! I usually try reaching out to varying levels of success but I feel what you mean!
