Murano thongs at Dillard's

Post by swimmer78 »

I was shopping today for sport coats in a Dillard's department store near my house. Of course while I'm there I check out the underwear selection, not expecting to find much to my liking. I was shocked to see thongs! In a major dept store no less!! They were "Murano" brand in a 3 pack for about $26. Has anyone tried this brand? I almost bought a pack but wasn't sure about the back. The model pictured only shows the front. They feature a wide waist band with the branding logos on it. I'm wondering how wide the strap is. They also had Murano bikini briefs and jock straps. It was great to see these in a big box store.

Having read your post, I think we could have a specific section here on the forum for guys like yourself to report sightings of thongs etc in actual bricks and mortar stores, rather than online. I did read the reviews, which seemed favourable, although some reported the sizing to be on the small side. It is a pity a pic of the back view wasn't included on the packaging, but I guess the sight of a man's buttocks might have been too much for some! I'm just wondering if you could ask a friendly assistant to open one of the packs to give you a better idea of the back? They might say no, laugh in your face and chase you out of the shop, but hopefully the possibility of a sale might prompt them to say yes. Let us know if you decide to take the plunge.

I think a forum for thong sightings at stores is a great idea. If brick and mortar stores are going to sell these styles we like, then we need to show them there is a market out there for male bikinis and thongs. I'm probably going to buy some just for that reason. I'll keep you posted. Lol on getting a salesperson to open some up. Would be nice to start up a conversation with an associate to let them know guys like us are out here.

While I wouldn't be afraid to buy thongs in person, I think a lot of guys would be too shy. I did notice they had the thongs in a somewhat discrete location. I'm sure that's not coincidence 😏.

Awesome that you found them in the actual store, I haven’t been in my local Dillards in a few years since they pissed me off over a purchase. But I do recall they used to have a variety of thongs (once upon a time). They could have been located in a discreet location but since they are also the store brand they do not get priority of up front advertising like the other name brands the store has. It would be interesting to engage an associate for more detail on them, sad that online you can’t even see the back on the dummy. They remind me of the Hang Ten or Hanes version Kmart had 20 years ago.

Update: I went ahead and bought a pack of these thongs from store. They are "ok" thongs. First of all the sizing is waaayyy off. Going by the size chart on the box I should have been a large in these. Got them home to find they were way to small, the waist band was too tight. So I took them back and exchanged for an XL pack. I tried them on and the waist band was right but the pouch and and tail are a little loose now. There is a bit of a gap on the sides of the pouch exposing me a little. The thongs I got are black, navy, and gray. The waist band is about 1 inch wide. I'm not a big fan of the branding on the waist band either. Since they are mostly cotton I'm hoping they might shrink a little with washing/drying. I would give these 3 stars overall.

Thanks for the update on them. Guess positive thing is they are in a store where a non thong wearer may see them and get interested. If they are at least comfortable it could help turn some guys.
