Stumbled upon a outdoor concert in Acapulco, Mexico where the stage has cutouts of men and women in beach attire. The guy cutout is featured wearing a high cut skimp-ish speedo.

I've been admittedly binging on watching and searching for retro clips where guys are wearing awesome bikini swimwear. 80s/90s tv shows/movies seemed to have alot more than now

I thought the men in speedos on the talk show clip was interesting,particularly the positive and very noisy reaction from the mainly female audience every time one of the models showed their butt in a thong. The female presenter certainly played her part in winding up the audience to a frenzy by getting up close and personal to the scantily clad guys. I'm assuming this was an American show,so if that is the case,it seemed a bit strange that in a country that generally is hostile to skimpy swimwear for men,that the guy in the chair was saying that they had sold out of many of the styles on display. Going back to the reaction of the audience. It was similar to a group of women on a hen night screaming at a male stripper. But I wonder if that's because most of them were probably going home that night to a husband/partner lounging in front of the telly in baggy boxers or well past their best tighty whities?

The Wraith (1986)
Not wanting to give away the plot for those of you who haven't seen it, there are two scenes that show men wearing bikini underwear and swimwear. One scene is at a local swimming hole and one of the actors is wearing a bikini-style swim brief. The other scene involves a man and woman making out. He is wearing bikini underwear and she is in her string bikini panty when they are discovered by the local gang of toughs. bikini underwear guy gets beat pretty badly (killed actually).

Back to School (1986)
In the movie, Thornton Melon's (Rodney Daingerfield) son (played by actor Keith Gordon), wants to join the college swimming/diving team and so there are frequent scenes of men in bikini-cut swim briefs.

I can’t remember if this on was mentioned, but the 1998 version of The Parent Trap (with Lindsay Lohan) she’s the butler in a blue swim brief. My 5 year old daughter happened to be watching the movie this past weekend (I think it Freeform, cable tv) and the scene was when the girls were trying to get their parents back together. The butler was in a blue swim brief in the hotel room. So kids today can see an adult in a swim brief on cable tv in front of a young girl and no harm was done.

I’m not sure why but honestly today was the first time I saw the links. The talk shows were cool, the ladies seemed to enjoy the men in the speedos - yet you don’t see women buying their men speedo bathing suits, at least not today. But you could obviously tell the shows were in the 90s. One of the video links was no longer available. Summer night fever had several men wearing swim briefs / bikinis. You don’t see that much on the beaches near me.

Don't be disheartened by the lack of feedback on your post.
