Jockey No Panty Line Promise underwear.

A place to talk about underwear in general that doesn't fit in thongs or bikinis.

Jockey No Panty Line Promise underwear.

Post by JustSomeDude71 »

Jockey's line of tactel panties called, "No Panty Line Promise" (or NPLP) have been hailed by many as Jockey's first actual attempt at unisex underwear for both men and women. Has anyone tried them, and what is your opinion of them?

Not sure how they could be hailed as their first attempt at unisex underwear based on how they are marketed. First the no panty line promise indicates to me that it is for women. Men's underwear is not a panty. Then they have them listed as women's underwear on their website and state women's underwear in their descriptions. I'm sure they aren't hanging in the men's underwear department. Then the line has lace in them and not really much in neutral colors. So to me there is no indication of an attempt to make it a unisex underwear line.

While it's true that Jockey does market these as women's panties, they no longer make them with the lacy waistband, they have not for many years now. The tactel fiber makes them super-stretchy and can accommodate the male anatomy... even the most well-endowed men can wear them comfortably without their junk spilling out of the sides. All Jockey has to do is remove the cotton crotch panel, and changed the sizes from 5, 6, 7 and 8 to S, M, L, and XL... no one would know the difference. They do come in neutral colors, (Blue, red, white, black and beige). Men have been begging Jockey to make and market these for men for years... I wonder why they haven't? The majority of reviews on Jockey's website for these underwear are from men. Thousands of men are buying them and wearing them because they are, in many ways, the perfect brief.

People who don't wear men's bikinis and thongs consider what we wear as panties. If we're going to let other's define and decide what we choose to wear as "panties", then we have already lost the debate. Even a lot of the manufacturers who make and sell the underwear we choose to wear describe them as "gay", "sissy" and "panties" in their search descriptors. We can either let them win, conform to their worldview, throw away our skimpies, and surrender to wearing traditional and conventional, boring full-cut Y-front Briefs, Boxer Briefs and boxer shorts, or we can ignore their ignorance and wear what we want to.

I guess half the colors would be considered neutral, but for me white and beige would be out. I was looking at the whole line, which has a couple pairs with the lace waist. Not the bikini or the thong though. Who knows why they can't make a good thong or bikini for men. Their thong for guys looks too much like a brief. Their men's bikinis aren't what I'd consider bikinis, since their sides are wider. I'll give them an okay on the string bikinis. Now you'd think if they paid attention to reviews of their women's underwear by guys they'd get a hint that some similar for the guys would sell. Thought they are probably figuring they're buying these why bother. I see plenty of reviews on Victoria Secret from guys too. They aren't aiming for gender neutral. I'm sure their several reason why guys are buying them (as you mentioned other places they typically offer larger sizes than most men's brands), but for me I'm going to stick to ones marketed as men's underwear.

I don't think respected men's brands refer to men's bikinis and thongs as panties. I mainly see that on AliExpress or maybe listing on ebay, Amazon, and other market places selling Chinese made pairs. I will not let anyone define my underwear as panties. I don't even typically define women's underwear as panties. Anyone that labels men's underwear in a feminine or as gay will not get my business. There are plenty of places for me to buy that do not put unnecessarily labels on men's underwear. I won't give up the fight that bikinis and thongs are for all.

I bought some string bikinis many years ago that were made of tactel material, and I have to say they were incredibly comfortable. The pouches were soft to the touch and did wonders for my package, and the outer elastic was very light on my skin.

Body Aware made a tactel tanga that was super!

I love the Jockey NPLP underwear, I have the hip brief, hi-cut, string bikini, bikini and hope to get the thong soon. Almost all are black, I feel that they look more manly, and of course no lace. The fabric stretches well enough to make the fit great!

Their tactel NPLP hi-cut panties used to have a lacy waistband, but not anymore. I like the string bikini the best. The bikini cut has too wide of a side for me, looks more like a hip-hugger brief to me.
