Here, I continue my story in briefs ...
The prehistory :
It was around 1960/67, as underpants we had models like this:
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_5Av70BfofUY/S ... ourou_.jpg
Short on the legs and going up to the navel, quite loose, no support ... The shorts were only a daytime garment or a slack underwear "caleçons" worn by the grandpa :-).
We only showered on Saturdays, so we wore the same underwear all week, night and day ... Yuck! :-(
As a swimsuit, it was the grandma who knitted them for us ... in wool! It must have scratched us!
Fortunately later my mother bought us some store-bought swimsuits jerseys, the shape was rectangular (or square cuts?), like the current sunga from Brazil . In summer we wore only that, in the sun of the South of France and we became black skinned like Amazonians. And the grandma said that the color of our skin was rubbing off on the bed sheets ... It was filth in fact! :?
I don't really know when I wanted to wear smaller, triangular briefs or swimsuits, I felt the desire to feel thin, light or smooth fabrics like nylon against my skin. ... Like those of panties for big girls, if you will ... It was early adolescence, I think. Why did I have this desire and not my brothers or my friends? Who knows... :?:

First bikinis!
Until around the age of 15 or 16, it was my mother who bought us our clothes, including our briefs. She did not take us to the shops in town for this (which we could have chosen). No, he passed a traveling salesman with his van, she bought us what he had or she ordered from his catalog for the next visit, every three months ... This salesman came from a small town in the mountains and he did only offered cheap but old-fashioned items!

While staying with an aunt, I stole - in the dirty laundry bin - a pair of panties from my cousin of the same age as me. It wasn't only the fact that it was a girl's panty that attracted me but also because it had a triangle shape and its very smooth synthetic fabric. I carried it in secret ...
Later, I saw my aunt putting away my cousin's briefs, who was 6 years older than me. I was quite surprised : They were mini bikinis made of fine cotton fabric - from Eminence brand - very thin on the sides. I did not even know that there were men's briefs of this shape ... ... and besides, they were in fashion! My aunt understood my interest and gave me one! Wow! My first bikini! :D I think it was around 1968 ...

Shortly after I was enrolled in a high school in a rather remote town, I was a boarder and I only returned home every two weeks.
Every other weekend I could go wandering around town and shopping. I spent some of my pocket money replacing all of my old "family" and old-fashioned briefs with bikinis or tangas like my cousin's .... well, all the buddies in the dorm found them great and even my mother said they were pretty , that I tasted good!
It wasn't until a little later (1970?) that I bought myself two Hom and Port-Cros brand swimsuits: a bikini and a tanga. At the beginning I didn't dare to put them too much but when I made it all the friends and especially the girls found it very good: At that time the swim briefs were square-cut in shape but the triangular ones were coming into fashion, we called them "Tarzan briefs". The girls had also all started wearing little bikinis. (On the other hand, these little swimsuits covered the buttocks of both girls and boys well.)
It was only the older people who wore shorts for swimming!
Happy time ...!

First thongs
When I met the one who was to become my wife, she was wearing a very sexy black mini bikini-tanga... That must have influenced my interest in her! We got married two years later (1977) and I often gave her the smallest panties I could find in stores or order from the mail order clothing catalog (La Redoute or Les 3 Suisses). One day around 1980, in town, I saw the first advertisement for a women's thong underwear displayed in a boutique! I hastened to buy her one and she happily wore it!
We hadn't seen any for men yet ... Except that by chance, while visiting the very small town of Agde, I saw a men's underwear shop that displayed thongs in its window! Obviously I got in there, there were two male shopkeepers (probably a couple) and one took care of me ... "Yes, you have to try them ... Oh, I advise you to do it on your skin naked, without keeping your brief! " (Which is contrary to hygiene regulations!) And then he came back with me to the fitting room ... to give me his opinion! I had understood his merry-go-round, I was a bit awkward but I didn't say anything ... Except when he put his hand on the pocket of the thong I was wearing! I just told him, "Stop! I'm not gay!" He withdrew his hand. I did not get angry. I bought two thongs, I think they had in T back. They could be worn in underwear or in a swimsuit. There it was, it was a fun experience and I had my first thongs!
Quite quickly the thongs spread in shops and stores ... I preferred the models with a small triangle on the back rather than T-straps. At first, I didn't dare to put them on the beach but I did. did when I saw women wearing it and no one looked at me strangely. My wife was more reluctant to wear it so I gave her a Brazilian swimsuit that was skimpy on the buttocks but didn't fit into the crack.

80s and 90s
In the 1980s men's bikini or "sunga" swimsuits were quite common, thongs were quite rare. Even a few women wore thongs, 3-5% I think. Why Brazilian fashion has not spread among European women, mystery. Yet on our beaches, topless was very common, often more than half of the women!
But already, towards the end of the 70s the fashion for swim shorts arrived among young people, with the example of American surfers and windsurfers ... Young Europeans like to conform to fashions from the USA, even unsightly and inconvenient as the pants say "baggy" ...
And its young people were already making fun of our old-fashioned swimsuits, they kept the same fashion as they got older which ended up being the majority and then the essential standard ...
The underwear followed the same trend ...

We are not there yet and after my divorce, around 1980 I met a woman who liked nudism or only wearing a thong on the beaches. So we went to the uncrowded beaches, those where you have to walk a kilometer or two to find peace. So I spent most of my leisure time at the beach exposing my buttocks to the sun!
Until around 1995 there were still many models of bikinis and thongs in the underwear departments of shops and stores, even supermarkets ... The brand "Scandale", however specializing in fine lingerie for women, offered very pretty and very comfortable (very fine fabric) bikinis and thongs for men it was my favorite brand and I used its black and thin thongs to swim and enjoy the beach ...
It was towards the end of the 1990s that the recession was brutal, most of the brands (including Scandale) stopped manufacturing their underwear and swimsuits, we hardly found any more in the shops.

Except when he put his hand on the pocket of the thong I was wearing!
I wonder if he was trying to get you erect so that he could test the fit of the garment while you were in that state. Plus perhaps some personal benefits if he was gay. Although if that was his real aim, why did he not mention what he wanted to do and let you get yourself into the required state. At least you got the items and did not walk away.
