Bikini and/or Thong Inspiration from Movies and TV???

A place to talk about underwear in general that doesn't fit in thongs or bikinis.

Mine would be Tim Robbins from Bull Durham. There are scenes of him in blue and white striped bikinis. My step-dad had the same bikinis. I believe they might have been Jordache.

Loved that movie. Don’t forget the jockstrap scene with him and the garter belt

My answer is pretty similar to jason_greets. I grew up watching telenovelas on Univision and Telemundo, even if it was just taking peeks here and there since I wasn't really that interested in the rest of the shows themselves. In the mid to late 90s, it was really common and accepted to show the macho male leads wearing swim briefs or bikinis, especially if there was a scene that took place at a beach or pool.

There are some Hispanic comedy shows from around the same time period (some imported from Venezuela), where male characters would often be shown wearing Speedo or bikini-style swimsuits, as well. However, sometimes these sketch shows would have the men stripped down to their underwear as a joke or show them as unflattering/unappealing. Just for comparison's sake, shows like Sabado Gigante would have bombshell women in bikinis either competing for prizes or just as eye candy.

My dad was big into fitness in the 70s/80s and we used to have these books at home that were put out by Arnold Schwarzenegger and other bodybuilders with photos of models showing you how to do certain exercises, lots of them wearing skimpy posing trunks. I always liked sneaking a peek at those too when I could.

Yeah that garter belt scene was something else LOL! Kevin Costner I think was rocking some Jockey Elance in For Love of the Game in 99

On TV last night: David Carradine in 3" black briefs from side and rear views in Death Race 2000 made in 1975.
I remember him in Kung Fu at the time.

Thinking back since I used to do something similar, I think I admired their physiques and wanted to be more like them, so disciplined and confident. That's part of the reason I feel so relaxed when I wear my swim bikinis at the beach or pool.

I'm now working out to develop a good physique as well. Maybe not as fit as them, but better than the skinny arms and soft midsection that I have right now.
