Mine was a Calvin Klein Body Thong that my wife bought for me from Macy’s back in the late 90s when she was shopping with a couple of her friends who saw what she was buying for me. We had a big outdoor barbecue/pool party to attend the day she gave it to me. She asked me to try it on before we left, so I did. Then she told me to leave it on all day. This was my first experience wearing a thong, so I felt very self conscience wearing it around all the party guest which who were mostly family and friends. I was worried about visible thong outlines or whale tail showing. I felt like everyone knew. Knowing my wife, she probably mentioned it to a few of the guests, so maybe some of them knew. I started buying my own thongs soon after that.

Was shopping with GF at the time and we went into a department store (MYER) to buy new pants a shirt and underwear for a formal dinner. She actually picked it out and said, "You would look sexy in that". Long story short I got the second one because a sale was on. Buy 1 pair and the second was half price. So I ended up with two 😅
I remember seeing microfibres YSL thongs in the UK around 15 years ago. They don't seem to be around now and I bought a white one. My first that I actually bought was a CK 365 black microfibre string thong - slightly transparent, gorgeously soft microfibres, string sides and a small triangle at the back. I was a small in the CK Steel Microfibre trunks and briefs so naively went for a small in the thong. Amazingly, I still have and wear this thong.
Yeah that's about right, approx 15 years ago but in Australia. They were great to wear, comfy, good material and yeah a little pricey as YSL usually is to be expected. So getting the second one for half price was a no brainier at the time. Yeah I'm also familiar with the CK365 black microfibre triangle back thong and got a 3pack, all in black though. Mixing colours was not an option at the time. They are great to wear, soft yet durable and slightly strerchy at the same time. Definately a great choice, would be good if these were on shelves today, but it's not an easy find that's for sure.

My first thong was a orange punto blanco. It was synthetic, probably from polyamide.i have wrote a story about this.
But my first contact with a man thong was 5 years before when a greek magazine for young readers offered a black mens thong for its readers.
You could choose the size by buying a diferrent magazine edition.
As i have already wrote as a post, i didnt managed to buy one because i was delayed a couple of days going to the magazines-newspapers store, but ! My best best friend bought one and he used to wear it every saturday night, when was permitted from our parents to go out and have fun.
I wasnt jealus,or piss off for that..neither excited knowing he had a thong on and i didnt.
For that time ( 1994) it was just another style of underwear for men.especially for those who wore jeans with big holes at the back( as my friend did) and didnt want to have obvious their underwear.
It was fashion trend at that time to wear jeans with big holes and scratches at the back ( just below the back pockets or a little at their side) ,in front ( around the bulge- thats why a underwear was obligatory) and at the knees.
As i was raised in a consernative family i was not permitted to wear this kind of jeans...

And that, I discovered Frederick's of Hollywood had a small selection of mens underwear. They had very comfortable cotton thongs! After that, I bought most of my thongs from MalePak (later called Prevail Sport).
Y'know, I've had a few of the "piano wire" style thongs before. Some are definitely uncomfortable, especially after a few hours. Others with a bit more length to the back string are quite comfortable for me. Problem is you'll never know what it is you're buying until it's in your hands, which is a rarity these days.
That's why retailers need to bring back men's bikini and thong underwear to their store shelves! Being able to physically see, touch and feel the thing you want to buy is so much different than clicking "add to cart" based on looking at a few pictures and reading a few reviews) Things were better back then!
