I bought my first Speedo in college. I was a commuter at my college, so I was living at my parent's house. I bought this so I could get a better tan than by wearing gym shorts. It worked. I was 20 years old at the time, and really worked on it. I never did go swimming with this, and maybe all the sweat that Summer caused the material to lose it's stretchiness. My next Speedo I bought when I was 32. I can still wear that, although I have so many other suits now, I don't think of wearing this one

I mentioned in another post that I bought my first Speedo in the summer of 1976. I had finished my bachelor's degree and was heading to pharmacy school in the fall. It was a smaller bikini style with a blue and white pattern. Like Tim, I laid out in the sun in it to work on a tan. I later replaced it with a green one with some small stripes in a similar smaller-bikini style. Replaced it with my first men's microbikini made by a stylist in Florida named Lynn who ran a small mail-order company called Lynn's Lines. Her styles were ! ( Maybe Skinzwear got some inspiration from her!)

I bought my first speedo in high school and would wear it for underwear. I then discovered the Undergear catalog and would order all types of bikinis - undies and swimwear. Back then, Victoria's Secret sold men's silk thongs, bikinis, and boxers, so I bought some thongs and bikinis.

But it all started with that green speedo.

I was given a speedo by my highschool gf's mom. I was over at my gf's one day and she asked if I wanted to go swimming. I was down but I didn't have trunks and was wearing white Jockey bikini briefs that you could definitely see though before they were wet. So my gf asked her mom if her stepdad had any swim trunks.

She came back giggling and I saw why. Her stepdad was a lap swimmer and she was holding skimpy light blue Quicksilver swim briefs given to her by her mom since stepdad didn't wear trunks. I protested, but she was keen on swimming and always got what she wanted so I spent the whole day in that tiny pair of swim briefs. My Gf loved them, even bought me some to wear for when I was over there.

Her mom was less enamored, I filled out that suit and especially around my lovely gf it was a struggle to stay in. But that began my love affair with speedos.

She bought me a few of my own that I spent the summer in and they went with me to the college pool. I was a very popular freshman with the 'bold' choice at the college pool. I was happy to chat with anyone about my favorite swimwear. Even saw a few converts by the end of the year.
