What was your first thong?

Back in the 80s & 90s, Brüt 33 had a thong with a backstrap like a piano wire! The most uncomfortable thong I ever wore!
And that, I discovered Frederick's of Hollywood had a small selection of mens underwear. They had very comfortable cotton thongs! After that, I bought most of my thongs from MalePak (later called Prevail Sport).

My first thong came from my step-grandma. She bought me leopard print Joe Boxer thongs which she put in my stocking. That side of the family gets undies in their stockings every year. My step grandma thought they were bikini briefs that my stepmom would buy me and didn't see the back strap. I was quite embarrassed but no one really noticed until my stepmom was going through through my gifts and said:

'Omg, your grandma bought you thongs'

It was a just try them and we can throw them away if you don't like them. Spoiler: I loved them and never felt sexier in my young life. When Mom asked later, I just said I would keep them and she smirked and said ok.

My first thong was a Dore moderate cut thong in navy-blue. This thong is why my nickname is ‘navythong’.
At that time you had to fill out a paper orderform and send it to Dore.
Dore’s thongs were well-made and I wore them a lot. After the navy one I ordered several other colors and also some bikini’s. A few years later I switched to more push-out thongs grom Dore. After Dore passed away I switched to Musclskins.

Mine was a box of Joe Boxer thongs in the late 90s that I mistakenly bought at the same time as buying a box of string bikinis. I think they had been mis-stocked or I had a brain cramp, and I didn't realize it until I got home and was unboxing them. So I tried them! They've been in the rotation ever since!

My first thong was a black silk ESL thong bought from a department store Myer here in Australia. I had longing looked at them for a long time before I had availability and money to get it! That was the most amazing feeling putting it on for the first time!

OMG! I think that was my first as well, terribly uncomfortable. I loved the way they looked but could only stand to wear them for a couple hours.
I bought them at a store out of town and I grabbed a Large by accident because I was so nervous and had to go back in the store an exchange them for Medium! The lady cashier was really nice about it.

My first thong was a Rudi Gernreich original bought in Provincetown in a shop that specialized in bikinis for men. My wife already had one bought from Frederick’s of Hollywood. We wore them on Herring Cove Beach on Cape Cod in the mid-1970’s. A few seasons later we discovered a nude beach in Rhode Island so the thongs were used for vacations and when we had friends over for a day in our pool. The nude beach is long gone but there is a thong friendly beach about 15 minutes away.

Mine was one of those red satin joke thongs, given to me by my girlfriend at the time. It started as a joke gift — but I actually really liked how it felt. It was way more comfortable and exciting than I expected. And my girlfriend loved how much it turned me on wearing it, so it quickly went from a joke to something we both enjoyed.

Fast‑forward about twenty years: that relationship ended long ago, but the thong habit definitely didn’t. Somewhere along the line it stopped being a novelty and became my normal. These days I wear thongs pretty much all the time — everyday wear, at the office, and when working out. They’re comfortable, practical, and honestly just feel right for me.

Funny how one silly gift can end up shaping a long‑term preference!

I think my 1st thong was a Joe Boxer pack from Kmart. I also got Jockey ones in a tube(?). I was always so nervous when I went to pay for them.

My first was a swimsuit. Cant remember the brand but it’s not one of the brands we hear of currently. Found it in a local dept store in Hawaii while there on vacation. I got a neon green one first. Then went back a few days later and got a red/white Hawaiian floral print.
