Before you and your wife head out to the pool, walk by there and see what the other guests are wearing. The chances are fairly good that some of the guys and gals are wearing microwear of various types. Also, what sort of swimwear does your wife like? If bikinis or the like, why shouldn't her man dress in the same manner? :) No reason why the two of you can't be the "Hot Couple," and show 'em how it's done! There is nothing wrong (or obscene) about a couple who are confident in their own skin!
My wife is more old-fashioned with her swimwear. She wears thong underwear but not bathing suits. But that's a great idea to walk around and see what others are wearing.

I have to say I'm happy I found this forum. It has helped me tremendously. Everyone here is so supportive and only builds confidence.

Good luck on your journey with the cruise! Can’t wait to hear about it after your return.

I have heard Virgin cruises are more laid back about this, and they even allow topless sunbathing on some deck(s).

Carnival ships had top deck that was clothing optional. Don't know if they still do.....

Clothing optional deck on Carvival disappeared when they start to market to a more “family friendly “ demographic.

We arrived at Ft. Lauderdale yesterday to some cloudy weather. Today did not disappoint. It was a very sunny afternoon and a great day to wear my thongs for the first time. I wanted to get the nerves out of my system before we went on our cruise. I put on my white swim thongs, and we left our room. My legs were shaking with nervousness and excitement. We stopped by Elbo Room for some liquid encouragement lol and headed to the beach. I dropped my shorts, took off my tank top, and felt all kinds of relief. I haven't pushed myself out of my comfort zone in a long time. Walking that long stretch of beach to the ocean with all those people didn't faze me. It was a great feeling. I'm still shocked I actually did it and so happy with myself that I did.

Great news, John!!! What sorts of microwear did you see on your fellow beach goers? By the way, what cruise line are you sailing with? Will you have any stops (with time for some beach fun!) during your trip?

I was the only male that I noticed on the beach. Made it a little
more nerve-racking, but I pushed through. We are with Celebrity Cruise Line. We will be going to the Bahamas with 2 stops. CocoCay Island and Nassau.
