I'm currently wearing a pair of JM Trunks that are about 15 years old. The few times I have worn them I tell myself it be the last time but when it comes to tossing them out I just can't. They used to be one of my favorite pairs and it's hard to give them up even though they are worn out and don't give much support anymore.
Does anyone else feel this way about older underwear?
Tossing out old Underwear
Re: Tossing out old Underwear
I have a difficult time throwing away any underwear. However, I have gotten better. if the pouch doesn’t feel right or the material is stretched or the pair just doesn’t sit well I will trash them. Some full cut briefs made their way to the trays not long ago because I don’t want underwear that large anymore, I had to make room for more thongs
Re: Tossing out old Underwear
I have no problems throwing out old underwear. I guess generally speaking it's recommended to replace underwear yearly, which likely is subjective on usage but definitely don't keep ones that are worn out, lost elasticity, or support.

Once the elastic starts to go, it's probably time for the undies to go.

There's a great Curb Your Enthusiasm episode about this issue!

I have some discontinued Jockey Elance mens string bikinis that I keep, even though they are thin, threadbare and have holes in the pouch. I can't bring myself to toss them out and on occasion, I like to slip them on and look at myself in the mirror.

I really wish they still had the design from a few years back. It's a shame no company has copied them.NoOnesOnion87 wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2026 7:10 am I have some discontinued Jockey Elance mens string bikinis that I keep, even though they are thin, threadbare and have holes in the pouch.

I've even thought of going to a professional tailor and having them make copies but use better quality cotton maybe even nylonstringer wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2026 7:28 amI really wish they still had the design from a few years back.
