Swim brief, brand opinions

Post by David_NC »

I have some pool boy swim briefs and they are nice, and I one from Sluggers and Todd Sanfield. Has anyone tried THK Male? Some of their patterns look nice. Also, what about Budgy Smugglers? Theirs look nice also.

Another brand I’ve been recommended is Arena. They have some cool patterns, but are they more for sport or leisure? I don’t plant to swim laps, I’m more of a lay in the sand and relax person.

Hey, David! While Arena suits are made a little stronger for lap or competitive swimming (and not deteriorating in chlorinated water) they're also great for laying on the sand (or a chaise lounge!) and relaxing in the sun or just splashing around in the pool.

Typically they're lined in front which provides a bit of modesty for those who need or want it, too, and the material isn't as 'see-through' or sheer when wet as other types of swim briefs (Cocksox, Aussie Bum, Joe Snyder, etc) can be.

When I was on swim team in middle school and when I was in high school speedos were all I wore to swim in and to relax in the sun in.

I'll vouch for Arena also, as oldermuscledude said they are really durable and strong. I bought one of there Icon briefs about this time last year and it's still in great shape. My other favorite brand is Sporti by Swimoutlet. They have a variety of styles and patterns, but my longtime goto is their Euro Brief. They are good quality for the lower price point, I just wish they offered them in some more color options. Would love to see a pink Euro!

My most recent purchase of swimwear was from a brand called Vaquita the Label. They promote themselves as an Australian company, but the products are made in China. I bought a matching short sleeve shirt and swim brief. Both are in black with an embroidered cherry blossom design. I really like the feel and look of the combination. I have not yet gone to a pool with this outfit.

In addition to these, I also bought a white lace brief. Both of the briefs are rather small as far as the cut and outseam go, but they feel just right. I have some small briefs where they feel like they are always falling off. The white lace shows off my skin and behind really well. It came with a removable modesty pouch. However, the piece holding the modesty pouch keeps your up front modesty in check. I like the way it looks, but I guess I wish the front was a bit more revealing. This link takes you to the page with the lacier designs. https://vaquitathelabel.com/collections ... nts?page=2

All of them look pretty nice, including the thongs.
