College recollection

One of the other recent threads prompted a memory from college that I don't think I shared before! For a summertime job between sophomore and junior years (so 1993-1994) I worked on the college maintenance and groundskeeping crew. I do think I posted elsewhere about the time I had to strip off my jeans and run away from a yellowjacket nest, but there was another time when I was helping move furniture. This was right at the end of the school year, so like May, and I was brand-new working there. We were moving wardrobes and desks downstairs in a dorm, and I was wearing a t-shirt and thin orange gym shorts. So as I was on the bottom end of whatever it was (I can’t remember if it was a desk or a wardrobe) and backing down, facing upstairs, arms out and stopping the thing from sliding. Of course, that meant that the shorts were pretty tight as I was doing kind of reverse lunges down the steps. Doing a lot of this all morning, throwing old stuff in big dumpsters, bending over, stretching, sweating, covered in dust and grime, etc, and a few hours into this, one of the full-time workers cheerfully said to me, “hey I didn’t think you were wearing underwear but now I can see your underwear lines and they’re just a LOT higher cut than what I thought!” I was wearing ribbed-fabric heather gray bikinis...I want to say they were Hanes but not sure!
