Who picks out your underwear

So, who picks out your underwear. I ask this not as a joke, but as a serious thought; also another member suggested I get my wife involved when picking out underwear to get her opinion. A lot of men don't shop for themselves and they rely on their wife (or partner) to buy their clothes - this may be why many men are left wearing boxer briefs because that is what is easily available for the wife to purchase at the local big box store. However, when this group looks for underwear we search for thongs, bikinis or skimpier styles. Do you let your wife/partner help in the decision, do they buy pick them out and buy them for you (hoping they get it right), or do you select your own? In the almost 8 years I've been married my wife has never purchased me underwear of any kind, she already thinks I have too many - but If she wanted to pick out something for me to wear, I would want to review it before making the purchase since usually underwear isn't returnable. Further more, do you like your significant other select what you wear for they day, that way you might be in a thong or you might be in string bikini - sort of like underwear roulette, you never know what they might decide.

Thankfully no one has bought, or attempted to buy me underwear since I left school. Although a number of years ago, an Italian friend surprised me with a gift which turned out to be an extra large speedo. Not sure if he was trying to tell me that my own string bikinis were too small(lol). Anyway, they never saw the light of day and I don’t even know if I still have them.
I have noticed on Instagram etc, guys receiving boxes containing underwear, as well as pampering lotions etc. The idea is that someone else decides what they think you’ll like and posts it to your door. I’ve watched a few of these boxes being opened, and I can honestly say I’ve NEVER liked the underwear that is included. So in closing, someone else buying me underwear would be my worst nightmare!

You are right that it seems women do a lot of the underwear shopping for their guys. Even if guys did shop for themselves in store they'd be looking at the same boring options too for the most part. I did find some reviews on the Hanes string bikinis of interest if they true reviwes. There are several from women that bought them for their husband that turned out to be positive experiences. I typically pick out and buy my own underwear. My wife tried to buy some as a gift once, but that was about the only time. Hard for her to surprise me when I'm the one typically around to get the mail and deliveries first. In college my mother attempted to buy me some underwear for Christmas, but missed the mark. She knew of my bikinis (no the thongs), since I left them in the laundry when I was home on breaks. She at least didn't buy the tighty whities . They were a fuller Jockey bikini cut in stripes. Guess the thought is what counts and she didn't go for norm in underwear. That was her last attempt at buying me underwear.

The only time my wife might pick out underwear for me is if we think we might need extra clothes when going somewhere and she'll grab a pair out of my drawer for me. She'll do that with swimsuits too if we think we might need one. Most of the time it is me picking out my own underwear and swimwear. Now it might be interesting to start allowing her to pick a pair out to see what she decides on.

I typically pick out my own underwear as I do my clothes. My wife did buy me a leopard g-string from Male Power several years ago when we first got married and on one occasion we did look through a Gregg Homme catalog and she picked out some styles that she would like to see me wear. Other than that I know what I like and what looks and feels good on me but if she did purchase me something I think she would pick out a style I would like as she has done it in the past.

That’s cool. A leopard print g-string is quite a bold acquisition. I wonder if your wife harboured a Tarzan fantasy and envisioned you swinging from the bedroom ceiling beating your chest and scaring the neighbours?

Lol maybe so. I like animal print underwear & sexy skimpy styles so I think she bought it based on that. She never objects when I wear that style/pattern!

Can I ask if your love of animal prints extended to your swimwear? I clearly remember an Uncle of mine wearing an animal print swimming brief on the beach way back in the early 1970’s, which always seemed much cooler than the swim shorts my own Father wore. I think they lost their appeal when they began to be associated with oily lotharios!

Don’t know if you saw my g-string collection in a recent TBD post, but the animal print g-strings were well received. Maybe animal prints will make a comeback?

I have been selecting and buying my own underwear since I was 16... no one else knows what I like, or know what particular things I look for when selecting a bikini, string bikini or thong.

No I’m pretty plain when it comes to swimwear. I’ve only worn board shorts. I have lots of animal print underwear in thongs, G-strings, bikini briefs and string bikinis.

I don’t recall seeing your post on that I will have to check it out. I’m not opposed to wearing a skimpier style of swimwear it will just have to be the right place and I want my body to be a little bit better shape. Gotta lose some of this quarantined weight lol

I have been selecting and buying my own underwear since I was 16... no one else knows what I like, or know what particular things I look for when selecting a bikini, string bikini or thong.

She was the first women out of all the women I dated who know the type of underwear I really liked to wear which is one of the reasons she is my wife! Before my wife if I knew I was going to be intimate with a woman or get somewhat close I would always wear boxer briefs which I don’t particularly care for. It’s nice to be able to wear my men’s string bikinis, thongs and g-strings freely without judgement.
