Yeah, I was one of those whose experience was mixed. I've posted these elsewhere, so I won't repeat all of that here, but beginning of my freshman year in high school, I insisted to my mom that she buy bikini briefs for me for the underwear refresh. It didn't go over well, but she did it, tho my dad lost his mind when he found out.

There was no way “in heaven or hell” my parents were going to buy anything other than the standard white briefs. The one time I did express an interest I got a good old fashioned talking to about how proper boys and young men don’t wear that sort of thing. There was plenty of homophobic undertones with that talk. When I was able to buy bikini style underwear I was happy but my parent about lost their minds. The first pairs they found were thrown in the trash. I started to hide my underwear as a result. The second time my underwear preferences were discovered my parent let me know that “ only homosexuals” wore that. Of course I didn’t buy into their nonsense and continued to wear my bikini style underwear until I moved out of the house and went to college. At college I began my transition to thongs and never looked back. Yes my parent could have been more relaxed about my underwear choice. And, for those of you that had parent that were open to minimal styles of underwear, you were and are very fortunate.

I early developed my interest in thong and as all kids, go beach with parents; they often go holiday together with a friend of mother and her kids
I often heard my mother and friend commenting negatively about young women in thong and much worse once that meet a man in a amazing thong. I was mesmerized and they were saying "what a ridiculous" or similar.
So you now know why my parents don't know how dressed I go beach.

Btw, the daughter of my mother friend was highly thong (underwear only) addicted.
