Snooping

A place to talk about underwear in general that doesn't fit in thongs or bikinis.

I "stole" a girl's panties one time in college and tied them in a bow on her car antenna as a joke. Then she did the same with mine a couple of weeks later.

I've had pairs go missing, so I'm assuming that I've also been snooped, probably in high school and college. The pairs that have gone missing were in college, grad school and summer camp, when I was a counselor in particular but also when I was like 14 or so, as a camper. So between laundry mix ups and intentional mix ups, I've had a few disappear.

In college, I got mine mixed up with my roommates' a time or two. A pair on the bathroom floor gets picked up, etc. It was fairly easy to discern though, because I wore far more string bikinis and he wore bikinis and low-rise. Even though I was a fair bit bigger than he was (taller and broader) we both wore mediums.

One time I was helping my uncle move and I needed a change out of a sweaty shirt and he told me that he some old Tshirts left in a dresser drawer in his room. As I proceeded to look for a t shirt in empty drawers I came across not only the tshirt but a vintage Calvin Klein thong and some silk bikini briefs. I never said anything about it but I was like hey my uncle has great taste in underwear lol.

That brings up an interesting point. I’ve always wondered where I got this fascination for skimpy underwear from, is anyone else in my family into it too or is it just me? I also wonder if it even works that way or am I just over thinking it hah.

It certainly wasn't from my parents, LOL! But a male cousin of mine is the one that got me into bikini briefs when I was in the summer between 8th-9th grades. One thing that was also striking (and perhaps not in an entirely wholesome way) was a female cousin 3 or so years older than I am also wore very skimpy bikini panties that were always clearly visible under thin white or yellow or khaki pants. But at the end of the day, I think this is a generational thing more than anything else. Every girl I've dated over the years that I've been with in some form or another has worn skimpy underwear too. Clearly that is much more prevalent for females than men but, as I've mentioned elsewhere, the bikini wearers were a significant minority in high school and college. Gen-X isn't a bad generation to be! These would have been events all through the late 80s and early 90s.

Now that I am thinking about it, the New Years Eve of my freshman year of high school, my female cousin and I both stayed with our grandmother. I had been not too diligent about my packing for this trip and neglected to bring anything to wear to bed on my bottom half, other than my underwear. I had spilled egg nog or something on my jeans and had to do them in the laundry so I was wearing like a long-sleeve thermal t-shirt and, I THINK gray ribbed string bikini briefs with a Playboy emblem in the corner of the front panel. It was either that or one of the Jordaches. But I think it was the Playboy string bikini. I did wrap a blanket around my hips.

lol it wasn’t from my parents either lol. This uncle definitely had an influence on my underwear choices. I’ve shared this before on the board but when he retired from the Air Force he came to stay with my family and I for a few months and he and I shared a room. Naturally I got to see his underwear choices which I remember being string bikinis and bikini briefs. When I saw the Calvin Klein thong all those years later I was like I guess I’m not the only male thong wearer in the family lol.

I guess my older cousin had the same impact on me, although I'd say his was pretty direct. He was a couple of years older and he jumped up and slid his jeans partway down to show his Jockey Elance bikinis and said, "this is what you need to wear, dude!" It made a lot of sense to me at the time as well because when I was going to summer camp, a lot of the counselors were from Europe and they all wore bikinis. In my simple 13-year old brain, I was basically like, "oh this is what I wear now."
