I wish you the best of luck. I did the same this year, I've been wearing the swim brief under the shorts but thankfully found the courage this year to wear just the swim brief. It was nerve wracking and you'll be nervous but we all have faith you will enjoy it once you do.gstringkini wrote: Sat Aug 23, 2025 12:59 pm Thanks to all the good camaraderie here on bottom drawer, I've finally worked up the courage rock my speedo next vacation. I'll start with it on under shorts on the beach, but I'll swim in the speedo.
Thanks, everyone!

Re: Considering speedos at the pool?
Thought I would add my experience. Alba Thermal Springs on the Mornington Peninsula in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. I wore my new Budgy Smugglers and was completely comfortable. There was another guy in a really nice blue pair of swim briefs. Never felt judged getting in or out of the pools or moving between the various pools, though I did use the robe supplied (it was cold out of the water).
Changing to go home in the beautiful change rooms I showered (private cubicles) and then changed in the open change area, into my yellow iKingsky thong and did not receive a look (that I saw) or comment.
Now to change society so like many of the girls there I could wear a swim thong!

We went last year, I wore some Budgy Smugglers too, as we were told no thongs, had a great time there, highly recommended, the change rooms are next level. I dried off and put a nice little G-string on, no one said a word.athongsnook wrote: Mon Sep 15, 2025 10:25 pm Thought I would add my experience. You are not wrong about the change rooms! Dyson hair dryers, lovely soaps, shampoos and conditioners. A spinner for drying your swimsuit!Thonglover8k wrote: Mon Sep 15, 2025 11:53 pm

I know this was some time ago but I'm interested in how they communicated the no thongs rule. I see lots of thongs at different bath houses I go to. I've never myself worn a thong except sometimes underneath a brazilian brief or a bikini but would like to do so next time. It might be easier to do very early in the morning or late at night - and if it's adults only I don't see the issue for guys or girls.

per google search:
Thong swimwear sits at the lowest level of the legal hierarchy—local municipal ordinances and private property rules—rather than in state or federal law. Because there is no overarching national law regarding thong swimwear, its legality is determined by local community standards, beach regulations, or the rules of private venues like hotel pools

I looked into this and it actually explicitly states no G-strings (thongs) on their website. Fortunately other bathhouses I have been to are more tolerant and I can wear a thong there
