Price of thongs for men

Would like to know why thongs for men cost more than any other under garment? Just doesn’t seem fair to us men, especially when there is less material in a thong. Just wondering

I suspect it has to do with the quantity they sell. Far fewer thongs for men than women. Lower manufacturing quantities push unit prices up. But if you look around there are good deals to be had. Most of the big name manufacturers like Joe Snyder etc., will be a bit more expensive, but there are deals from oveseas sellers on Amazon. Be a bit more careful on sites like DHGate where they are very cheap but the quality is not there either. Most of the stuff I've purchased from Amazon are decent, some even great. European makers like Modus Vivendi are way up there, probably nice, but not THAT nice.

Honestly though the best thongs I have I got from buffedbod.com, and are "custom" orders. Not cheap by any means, but really nice, high quality, and I got the colors and fabrics I wanted. Worth the cost if you're an experienced thonger, maybe not for entry level. I don't buy ANY garment with a big maker's name across the front! So most of Daniel Alexander is out for me, though not too expensive.

One warning, stay very clear of Walmart.com. They have major issues, like showing search results that aren't in stock, or out of stock on all sizes by XXXL, or all the good colors are gone. They also have big privacy issues. They track your searches and there's no way to clear your search history so stuff keeps showing up that you might rather others not see over your shoulder. They are also hyper about sending you notifications. Just stay clear, Amazon is better all around.

I get the supply/demand thing. I still find it funny how much a thong costs and it barely covers you. Even for ladies you can see a bikini-thong well over $150. Seems like a lot to cover very little but in the end that's the price to pay to show your stuff especially if you are out in public.

I get a lot of my thongs from eBay — can’t lie, it’s kind of my guilty pleasure.

I think it has got to do with production cost. Most men's thongs are produced by small scale manufacturers that are based in the west. These manufacturers have to adhere to strict labour and environmental regulations, and everything is relatively more expensive in the west. Also, men's thongs cannot be produced in large quantities due to a lack of demand. Hence, there is more artisanal craftmanship required when producing men's thongs.

But yeah, I get it. I was recently at Simons in Montreal. I saw a Coyote Jocks thong, but it was $38 a pair. Way too expensive for a pair of undies.

Thanks for the walmart tip - I got some "inexpensive" mens thongs there (good quality & fit well), but I guess I'll steer clear now. I didn't get any junk notifications.

I usually get thongs on ebay: low price, good quality, but they're also generic. The bigger name stuff costs more.......

I order my thongs from China. They sell good quality thongs for pennies on the dollar, but since the whole tariff deal, I haven't ordered anything from them, not necessarily because of the shipping cost, but because my employee has cut my hours so now I have to focus on what's practical and not what's fun.
