I run fairly regularly and wear a mix of the Soffee nylon shorts (aka ranger panties) and tracksmith VanCortland. Both are short enough to think twice about stopping at the grocery store on the way home from the track. Ha.

Am new to this forum, so bumping some old-to-y'all topics! (Cali location, BTW)

Was a distance runner back in the late 70s and early 80s. And, the short-shorts I wore back then would sure turn heads now! Felt great with their inner liner.

Got several pair swim briefs from The Finals during that era. But, they also had a unigender (!!) running brief: high-waisted, but modestly-bikini-cut leg openings!

And, YES, I wore those in public, at a local monthly fun-run! My friends were OK with it......

Present day, I got a pair of Cover Male 190, as mentioned by Jason Greets in this thread. Nostalgia, bringing back memories of all those miles.

Skinz also has a version. I use them as “cover ups” all the time for going to/from the pool. Various colors, prints, and sheerness.

I’ve got three pairs of short running shorts, can’t read the name brands. Two have the liner. I tried cutting one into a thong but it didn’t work so I just removed it. Super comfortable to wear to/from beach or pool and around the house.
Keep the sexy on fellas!

Sad to not see any running shorts out there like then. They were low-rise. Even the 2-inchers today are huge, floofy things,

I have a pair of 1" BOA shorts, but they still look baggy compared to my Aussiebum Footy shorts with also 1" inseam.

I’m an exercise fanatic and running is part of my cardio mix. I grew up in 70s and 80s and never stopped wearing 2” splits. Recent times I wear Nike -2” split running shorts and sometimes pair with Hom Plumes micro briefs…great combo. Hom micro briefs in general is one of my 2 favorite brands styles.
