Hazing. The negatives of being caught in underwear. it isnt always fun

Anyone here been hazed where you had to wear only your underwear in public in front of lots of people of both sexes Be it fraternity. Athletic team . High school team. High school club. College club. High school approved initiation event. Etc etc . I've seen it but it's never happened to me. Was it no big deal?? Humiliating?? Fun?? Great experience?? Horrible experience??

Hazing specifically? I guess for me there is one strong experience from college where I pledged a fraternity...one night only. The pledges were rousted out of the dorms in the middle of the night, and a few of us were in underwear. A couple of the smarter ones were in sweats because it was January and they expected this. I can't remember specifically, but I was wearing a short T-shirt and darker string bikini briefs...probably Brut or something along those lines. Anyway, we had to line up in the fraternity house and "serve" drinks to the fraternity brothers and their guests (sorority girls.) I walked out -- not because of the garb, but because of the task. (What else did I expect?) So yes, walking across campus in like blue or black bikini briefs in the middle of winter...not fun! But lesson learned. I had to beat on the RA's window to get back in the dorm since I didn't have my keys!

Yes. Hazing specifically. The reason I ask is we had the freshman initiation Dance aka hazing in high school a school approved annual event where seniors hazed freshman in the school cafeteria. One football player had to wear his jockstrap over his briefs. No shirt. no shoes. no socks. Another kid had to do a slow strip tease to music leaving him only in red polkadot panties over his white briefs. This was attended by all grades boys and girls. Some Girls would say nice underwear and playfully snap their waistbands. 14 year old boys. Minors. Not adults

I'm no prude, but I was more than a little uncomfortable reading this, particularly in this being approved by the school officials. Those being hazed in this way may have lasting issues about body image that can be life-long. Was there "equal opportunity" for the girls to "perform," or a double standard to only embarrass the guys? If it was basically a free-for-all, what would the parents say?

Micro bikini man brings up great points. I'm going to delve MUCH deeper and address his points plus More It was voluntary but you know how teen peer pressure works, herd mentality and rationalizing. "It's no big deal". "Everyone goes through it". "You get to do it as a senior if you get initiated as a freshman". did the girls get initiated?? Yes. Were they sexualized like the boys? No. I never saw them in bras or panties but I saw boys in dresses and bras myself and in old year books. As far as "performing". I only saw it with boys myself self and in yearbooks. Never girls. More "performances". One kid with only briefs and small towel between his legs and around his waist. Made to flex, pose and do push ups. Another kid as a flasher. Black bikini briefs. Trench coat and flashing all the girls. Didn't see this one but it was in the yearbook. 2 kids as sumo wrestlers actually wrestling. The school officials proctored it but as you can see the "proctoring" and "supervising" was lacking. Parents?? Who knows?? Either the kids lied or they didn't care. I think a lot didn't care because this went on for 15 years. We didn't ask our parents. We knew the answer and I didn't want to be in the yearbook. I went for the WTF and SMH factor. Even as a teen I was like OMG. As far as body image. Summo wrestler was mentioned as wearing blue underwear in the yearbook. I was in class with strip tease kid and hearing kids picking on him the next week about the polka dot panties Flexing and posing boy I heard comments on how skinny he was. Jockstrap boy I heard needed to drop a few pounds. I sat with flasher kid on the bus and he told me the senior wouldn't let him wear regular briefs and the bikini briefs added to the humiliation so short term effects weren't good. Long term?? Who knows. Messed up Hell yes

microbikiniman: I have no idea what put a stop to it. the end came after I graduated. these are all my theories which will be never proved or unproved due to being lost to time. Maybe the school saw it finally as producing nothing and resources could be spent at better things?? parents thought it got out of control?? Things going too far like I mentioned?? Cultural "norms" changing. I have no clue

I understand that. Guess I just wonder what brings about changes like that. (At 73, I've lived through quite a few myself, some personal and many, MANY observed and so noted.) How the school officials ever considered such an "activity" to be worthwhile to begin with is beyond belief. My guess is that something bad enough happened that heads did indeed "roll" (and deserved it).

I know. It's not at all like my roommate in college wanting the girls to walk in and see my in only my colored FTL Ribbed or Jockey low rise. We were College kids and legal adults these kids weren't

No, I'm relieved to say that I never had to do nor ever saw anything like that. I have been pantsed a few times, and I got in a couple of scrapes while just wearing underwear (once in a locker room, once in college with a roommate dispute, and once in summer camp...as I recall, anyway). I guess one time I had my clothes thrown out of the locker room and into the main gym while I was showering, so I had to recover my clothes and gym bag while in my undies and short T-shirt in front of another gym class...but these are what I would call isolated pranks or something.
