Your First Thong: When? What? Where?

Post by tbdrawer »

Let's start the Thong Talk section off with when, what brand or kind, and where we got our first thong?

I got my hands on my first thong, which was a g-string in college. Probably would have been 19 at the time. Not sure the brand of it, but I got it from Undergear. It was red and some kind of spandex or Lycra blend.

I bought my first swim thong back in the 1970's. It was a black Hom which cost £14.99 from an upmarket department store called Fraser's which was Scotland's answer to Harrods in London. I remember being quite nervous going up to the cash desk even though it was a young guy who was serving. I've still got it and it's almost like new because I very rarely wore it. I do remember wearing it in my back garden many years ago when mowing the lawn, which probably shocked the neighbours.
My first thong underwear was bought around the same time from a company called Estelle who had an advertisement in a daily newspaper. As well as thongs, they had completely see through bikini briefs which I had never come across before.I really wish I had kept some of them, but for some unknown reason I decided to have a clear out and put them all in a charity bag. I bet whoever opened that bag got quite a shock(lol). After Estelle I discovered Kiniki, who were based in Newcastle,England, and had real guys modelling their skimpy designs in their catalogue. That was when my underwear collection really took off.

Hi Gents

Thanks to Bottom Drawer for setting up this forum. Been wanting to ask some questions for a while now. Started reading his blogs and the comments and felt this the platform to break underwear norms.

My first thong, bought a couple of months ago from one a local online store- who happens to buy from China. While it gave me all the goosebumps, and thrill to finally have my first thong ( as a straight guy). My excitement was short lived. the thong arrived, nice blue thong yet it was just ill-fitting. I decided lets order another, again from this seller and it was the blue line range. This time a red thong, with Y back and metal rings on the side.

Racy, but this too was ill-fitting in pouch, due to low rise even for my average package. Mind you, I am still living at home with my parents, so wearing it was like living on the edge. In a country where no male thongs are available in-store or even online at major stores you must be very brave to wear one.

What did not help was the uncomfortable fit of either two thongs, nor the two jockstraps I went on to purchase. Ended up cutting it up and discarding it. I then found Bottom Drawer and read so much, that I was ready to try again. Most of the thongs he reviewed or you gents commented on, were either too expensive or just available to me- even via the internet.

Until Amazon global came along. I managed to purchase a thong via the store. Then Wish came along, to date I have purchased 4 thongs via them (cost effective- till I get my fit and is brave to wear my thongs in the gym locker room). First thong, is by Braveperson it is a bit small in the front but can be worn. The second set is by Avidlove and thus far, it is my most comfy thongs. I have worn them to work multiple times.
Then I have a string which I feel is better for sleeping in.

Well done you for persevering until you found something that was comfortable. I'm sure there are many guys who have a negative experience with their first thong and decide it's not for them, which is a pity because once you find a brand that you are happy with, you won't want to go back to your old undies.

Definitely,

After all the comments you guys posted I had to persevere so thanks to you guys.

I am ready to invest in more expensive brands or up my expense limit on thongs to the 20 dollar range. Hence, I always check reviews, its a long wait to get the thongs once ordered and then to be disappointed is the worst.

Glad to hear the blog and it's followers has helped you to keep giving thongs a try until you've found some the work for you. Keep your eye's on sales to keep the price per pair down. So far I haven't paid more than $18 for a pair and that was a splurge buy,

I bought my first thong for quite some time in a rebate. After years without using it I left it in a.charity bag.

Two years ago, also in a rebate, I bought several and last year I decided to use them in summer. So alternate as summer underwear string bikini and thong. Although in autumn now, as the weather is still good, I continue with this rotation.

I live in the north of Spain and only one friend told me that he used them, although I have not seen him using them. But I have not seen anyone wearing a thong in my life.
They will have seen me the few times I go to the gym in the summer.

I haven't seen any guys wearing a thong in person either. The skimpiest underwear I recall a guy wearing was one of my soccer teammates in college. I think he wore a pair of Jockey Elance Bikini or something similar to that style. Not quite as skimpy as I like to go.

That is the plan to keep on buying and trying new styles. Just very hard to stay within 18-20 dollar range especially with our weakening currency and import duties. Sad actually but its reality for now. Thanks Tbdrawer
