Wearing a swim thong in public…
Re: Wearing a swim thong in public…
I at long last have had a couple of days where it has been warm enough to spend time at my local beach. I met up with a couple friends (one female, one male) for the outings. The first day there were several people at the beach. Many women in thongs and cheeky bikinis. I got there and met my fiends and stripped down to my thong, a silver snakeskin print. My friends instantly made favorable comments about my thong. I noticed a few women nearby checking out the man wearing a thong. At one point I had to go to my car to get a couple items for one of my friends. So, I walked to my car without covering up. I had to pass a few people wearing my thong with confidence. The next day out I wore a black thong to match the black bikini my female friend was wearing. We rarely wear black swimwear. She point out a couple men wearing Speedo style swim briefs. That is a true rarity. Unlike the first day, most of the women wear wearing more traditional bikinis, only a couple other thong bikinis. Again I made a choice to walk the length of the beach a couple of times in only my thong. No one seemed to care. Then maybe it also helps to have. Woman at my side walking with me.

Wearing a swim thong in public can be quite intimidating the very first time you do it, especially as a male coz not too many fellas are seen wearing a thong in public. For the past 5 years my swimsuit of choice is a thong and that's the only swimwear style that I choose to wear. Once you get over the initial butterflies, it gets easier every time you wear a thong in a public place. I wear a swim thong every time I go to the beach and I don't mind being the only guy wearing a thong, but it's also great at the same time when other fellas are wearing one besides myself.

I’d totally agree with that . So intimidating at first and of course it varies with the ambience of the place . I just wouldn’t do it normally on a bucket and spade beach . But in a relaxed mainly adult area it is such a buzz . Normally I try and set up a reasonable distance from anyone else and if people de ice to set up near me that’s fine . The least interesting places are where the place is deserted , like everyone else is at work ! Even there it’s great to do some jogging . Taking business calls is fun too , and the person at the other end has no idea !

I have just put this in the Thong Talk section, but it's totally relevant in this thread. Hope it's Ok that I have doubled up...
I have been going to the local Ocean Pool and swimming laps this year and wearing thongs to do so. I have tanned there for many years occasionally, but go there much more regularly now.
With thongs and G-strings becoming so popular with females as swimwear in the past few seasons, there would be more than 30% of them wearing them on any given day. All ages and shapes. It's absolutely brilliant.
Because of this nobody can complain about me wearing thongs. It's not uncommon to see females lap swimming in a thong as well, but very rare to see males.
I have been there every day for the past two weeks and love it. All the females tend to walk around freely and uncovered, even out to their car and along the street. I have taken to doing this as well. I get changed into my swim thong before and after my swim/tanning at my car and walk around just as they do.
It's partly because I have every right to do so and it's my swimwear choice (and so many others get about in their choice of swimwear), but it is also a bit of a rush
A bit like knowing what is under your clothes in some situations, it's such a good feeling to be able to do this knowing you are perfectly legal and within your rights, but your are pretty unique in doing so.
It is also the best feeling to swim unencumbered by too much material and feel the sun on your whole body while in and out of the water. Being noticed and carrying on as usual in a social setting is great too.
Not only is it practical and functional, it feels amazing!

Man, I wish I had the courage to rock a swim thong in public. Guys rocking swim briefs in the States is hit or miss, so I already feel weird in a Speedo.
Good to know it gets easier each time you thong in public, might help me get over the hump. Finding a beach where men and women wear thongs might help, too

gstringkini, your concerns are understandable! Fortunately, there have been a number of posts about beaches here in the U.S. as well as around the world where microwear for both men and women is welcome. If you are in or near the eastern U.S., for example, Ocracoke Island on the Outer Banks of North Carolina (part of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore) welcomes such (and even has an unofficialgstringkini wrote: Thu May 08, 2025 7:20 pm Man, I wish I had the courage to rock a swim thong in public.
