I've been wearing traditional boxer shorts for over 25 years. I used to wear loose clothing and boxers were the popular underwear of the 90s and early 2000s. I lost over 50 pounds a few years ago and switched to slim fitting clothing. My problem is I can't get used to boxer briefs or regular briefs. The elastic around the legs of briefs bother me. Boxer briefs seems to ride up. Now, I can't find boxers that are comfortable or slim in size. They just bunch up.
I really want to transition to boxer briefs or trunks. I just need recommendations on which brands feel like second skin or feel like I'm not wearing them. I'm assuming modal is the best material to accomplish this. Any specific brands or material? I'm a 28 waist and usually wear a size small. I'm open to briefs too, but boxer briefs seem to be the popular choice. I ordered the man-made boxer brief but they haven't arrived yet.
Any other tips to transition out of boxers??

Brennan87, welcome to the forum. Have you tried MeUndies or AsWeMove - both have good material. JM is also a great brand with multiple choices of styles. I'd also like to point out other styles if you are open to trying them. String bikinis, for example, are a good choice if you want full coverage and are open to minimal leg coverage so you never have to worry about the underwear riding up or bunching up. I started with these back in high school and they were awesome. now if you really want to go bold - try a thong. No bunching, tons of fabric choices, and super sexy to show off your new weight lose.

I am a thong wearer but if you want to try Obviously Apparel their boxers briefs are great the pouch is roomy so may be more to your liking for some freedom. So when you order grab one of their thongs and give it a go.

I only wear boxer briefs for the past several years. I no longer wear all cotton material - must be micro modal for me or a breathable polyester with a silky feel. I wear Jockey brand boxer briefs after wearing Under Armour exclusively for years. Under Armour is too expensive and I find the Jockey boxer briefs just as comfortable and cheaper priced.

Re: Trying to transition out of boxers!!
I recently got rid of all of my boxers. Now I only have thongs.
I am seeing my parents next week and I wonder what my mom will say when she does my laundry.

Good on you Brennan87 - impressive to lose weight and to be willing to try a new underwear style - I also hated that bunching feeling when I once wore boxers. I don't see why anyone would these days! I would skip boxer briefs and recommend proper briefs - nothing beats them for comfort and they look and feel great. A good fitting pair feels like you aren't wearing anything, just support where you need it and enough coverage to relax! I don't like the big brands, I'd go to a department store and get a quality multipack which have elastane/modal in the material as I think they keep a better shape. It will take some getting used to but commit to wearing briefs for a week and you wont want to go back!
