A Scotsman's kilt

So those of you who know about Scotsmen will know that we sometimes wear kilts. This is 8yards of tartan wollen fabric usually in the clan tartan, with a number of pleats at the back and plain front, buckled at the sides. The fabric can be of different weights depending on the event. Anyway, often men in kilts are asked if they are 'true Scotsmen', meaning is anything worn under their kilt ( nothing is worn; it's all in perfectly good working order!) Anyway there are two schools of thought as to whether one should wear underwear as traditionally, not. it gets quite sweaty down there when a man is taking part in highland dancing at a ceilidh ( pronounced kay-lee) now I tend to wear my cotton tangas as they still allow for a bounce of my package which is quite erotic for me especially if I'm dancing with a large breasted girl who is also bouncing around. Years ago, in my late teens, I used to visit and old aunt to go to a ceilidh. I was used to being naked in her presences she knew what I had between my legs though as I got older, that became larger. Prior to one ceilidh, she gave me a tiny bikini to wear beneath kilt as she was concerned that my 'thing' would be bouncing about all over the place and that some randy old woman might sneak her hand beneath my kilt for a guick grope. When I'm wearing my kilts I rarely wear undies under them the true Scotsman way)! Sometimes I will wear undies of some sort--usually a G-string or thong-- if I feel that the occasion requires it but id mostly rather not!

I recently found out that I am 18% Scottish, so that gives me an excuse to finally buy a kilt. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for awhile until i get to wear a kilt or in public.

Go for it! And if you don't want to get a tartan kilt get a utility kilt instead! Once you get used to (and comfortable/confident enough with) wearing a kilt, it's hard to go back to pants! You'll have to get used to other folks staring and asking about your underwear when you're wearing a kilt. But the kilt comfort level is incredible....freeing and less constricting than pants!

I'm Scottish and wouldn't be seen dead in a kilt. Many kilt hiring companies here require you to wear underwear under their kilts for hygiene reasons, but I'm not sure how they can enforce it.

I don't think it really matters if you're Scottish or not...just wear one! If folks ask why you can always say that it's more comfortable than pants...or that you really like wearing kilts...or that it's none of their business...
