Hotel/Resort pools

Post by ralange »

In Michigan

Today I emailed one of the casino/resorts in Southwest Michigan. I asked them what the policy was on thong swimwear in the pool area. The reply was we prefer men to wear "boxer" type suits. The key word here is "MEN" even though they have adult hours from 9:00pm to 12:00am. If even I stay here I guess I'll wear the smallest non-thong suit I own, because I perfer to wear less then most men. I think it should be semi sheer as well.

You think that was ridiculous, last year when I went to Las Vegas with the wife to see a show and visit friends and I found the pools at the Palms Hotel/Casino posted against anything for men except trunks! To be a little modest (for me) I had brought some of my Speedo type briefs/water polo suits but this was not good enough according to a posted sign. So much for 'Sin City.' An aside, AVOID the Palms, poor service, poor amenities, crappy layout, poor food, etc. Rip off city!

Did you try to wear them in pools? If I go the to Firekeepers Resort I plan to wear a small bikini because the lady said prefer, so I prefer to wear a really small string bikini not trunks.
But we need to start putting a voice out that men can wear small swimwear. I'm wearing them as often as possible to show others that it can be done.

I actually had a maintenance guy tell me to “cover up” once when at a hotel pool. There were no children present and there were two “ladies” present wearing thong bikinis. Double standards stink.

Hope you told the maintenance guy to mind his own beeswax! I take it you were wearing a thong? Which country was the hotel in?

This doesn’t really correlate with the pool aspect; however, it does fall in with the “hotel” keyword, so I’ll insert my question here....

What are your opinions of allowing a housekeeper to come in and clean your room? I travel a lot for my job, and I strictly wear thongs and g-strings. Should I keep the “do not disturb” placard on the door for fear that the hotel maid will go snooping through my stuff or, should I not give a bother and let them come in and clean my room?

In my irrational mind, I have convinced myself that if they come in and clean my room... it will be flagged on my profile. In other words, when I check in at the hotel desk (where I have elite status) they are going to get a pop-up window that says, “wears lingerie.” (I know it’s ridiculous. But, I can’t help it)

Hi Tom. It seems like you have really got yourself wound up about this. I would think the vast majority of housekeepers are only interested in cleaning your room as quickly as possible before moving on to the next one.If you are worried they might rummage through your underwear drawer and discover your skimpy thongs and g-strings (shock horror), perhaps you could just keep them locked up in your suitcase and take one out when required.
Similarly, with the "bathmate"😉,why not keep it in your suitcase when you're not using it?
I'm sure all the followers of this blog would tell you there is nothing to be ashamed of in wearing thongs, g-strings or whatever, and we don't refer to them as lingerie. If, like me,you would like to see more guys ditching their boring boxers for something skimpier, then we all have to do our bit to promote the wearing of them as being perfectly normal. Hope some of this will allay your fears and encourage you to be proud of your sexy undies!

I know Dr Martin the body shaming of men is getting out hand in this country. I see about 75% of men have let themselves go. Because all we can wear is baggy this and baggy that. Wear something tight and OMG!

One day I was on my way to ride my bike and I got a call from work so I wore my cycling bibs into the plant. It went around faster then wild fire. Randy wears spandex. I said yeah and leggings, thong and bikini swimwear too.

I ride hard and workout to keep a nice body, people are going to see it even if they think it gross and disgusting for a man to show it.

Well I did it my first thong in a hotel pool was Monday night. The hotel I stay at while working in Kalamazoo Michigan was about 1/4 full based in cars in the lot. It was around 9:30PM
I haven't seen anyone else in the pool as long as I been staying there. It is next to the fitness center with Windows that look into the pool. I have used pool while people are using the equipment but I wore my string Rio cut bikini. Semi sheer when wet!
I plan to ask the manager one day what the policy is on thongs or I may just wait to see they say anything about it. What do you guys think I should do? Now that i did wear it I plan to do it more often, should get easier.

Merry Christmas Ralange! Congratulations on a successful first thong outing in a hotel pool. I personally don't think you should raise the thong issue with the manager, especially as you seem to be the only one in the pool. I'm sure, especially during low occupancy times, they are just grateful for your business and are unlikely to complain for fear of driving you away. Who knows, maybe some of the regulars in the gym will pass the word around that a hot guy in a skimpy thong can be seen in the pool while they are exercising, and the membership will increase as a result of your butt cheeks being on display(lol).
