I feel the same way. Wearing a bikini or a thong at a local beach would be awkward. But wearing one when on vacation elsewhere, where no one except my wife and stepdaughter know me, sounds more relaxing. I hope to find out when on vacation this summer.

Growing up, I’d occasionally wear a speedo when competing or scuba diving. They were tight and had a flatter front. Looking back, they were not very comfortable. I wore speedos in high school when I trained and competed in triathlons. I also wore speedos under my wet suit when scuba diving or snorkeling. I recall tanning in a speedo after taking of the wetsuit.

As for speedos, one or two friends I scuba dive with have seen me wear them under my wetsuit. As for thong swimsuits, only my wife and stepdaughter have seen me in them poolside at the house. I haven’t worn a thong to the beach yet.

Thank you. Your observations are similar to mine. Fortunately, now that my wife has become accustomed to my skimpy swimsuits, I can wear them at home by the pool. That is, until our vacation this summer.

A friend recently recommended I purchase a Grand Axis thong for a trip I’m taking soon so I did. I’m very happy with the sizing and fit. I plan on buying at least one more in another color prior to the trip.

I say to each his own. Then again, it’s easy for me to say that given that I am older than most on here I bet. For me, wearing bikini and thong swimwear in front of others, even if it’s just at home by the pool, motivates me to eat better and work out more.
