Are they ashamed of their own products?
Jockey, Hanes and FTL (among others) don’t even mention or advertise that they make skimpy underwear for men… as if they are somehow ashamed of their own product. You really have to dig deep in their social media pages to find any evidence that they even make bikini and thong underwear for men, and then the comments are always the same:
“These look like panties!”
“Real men would never wear this!”
“If my man wore those, I would leave him!”
“This s##t is for fags!”
“Only creepy pervs wear this s##t!”
I try my best to debate these people, but it quickly becomes a one against ten fight. They’re not going to accept or try anything new. They are closed-minded and ignorant.

Re: Are they ashamed of their own products?
JSD, I enjoyed your post and just had to comment! Doesn't it seem a little (!) strange that these "Real Men" brazenly wasted their time searching deep within the styles being offered to begin with?!? Hmmm...could it be they are secretly tired of wearing parkas in July, but are too damn weak to think for themselves? Brings back fond memories of a columnist noting that a sure sight on any tank-town carnival midway is at least one man strutting about like he is "God's Gift to Women." (The writer sincerely hoped that the Good Lord keeps the receipts in case the "Gifts" needs to be returned.) Of course, some of these "offended citizens" may have just returned from a "gut-bustin' bonanza" at the local buffet (where they insisted on wearing pajamas.) Am I being nasty?!? I'm just warmin' up!
One of my ultimate fantasies is seeing a video from a honky-tonk showing, in order: "group interest" in a "wooman"/resulting " F-Bomb Marathon"/one-hour bare-knuckle brawl/"Attitude Adjustment " in the slammer. And we just gotta "bring in the sheaves," too! Let's say a group of us microwear enthusiasts is enjoying a great day at the beach. "Offended" parka-clad "preacher" crashes the party and says we're on a "Fast Train to Hell" and we need to "read the Bible." My fantasy answer: "Fifty dollars cash to the " Flower Fund" AFTER you read the ENTIRE "Song of Solomon" as the keynote at your next "crusade," SLOWLY, AND with PAUSES!" (Geez, the word "breast" alone is used EIGHT times! The eroticism is quite alluring!

I noticed the same thing with Pair of Thieves. They used to have their mens' bikini underwear listed next to other underwear types, but not anymore. You have to dig really deep like through a Google search in order to find them. They're not my type of cut, but they do have a decent print.JustSomeDude71 wrote: Thu Dec 08, 2022 10:23 am Jockey, Hanes and FTL (among others) don’t even mention or advertise that they make skimpy underwear for men… as if they are somehow ashamed of their own product. Hi there -- never tried Pair of Thieves but checked it out. Bikinis are listed now under the drop down menu under "SHOP." I had seen them before on Target's website but didn't buy, but looking at this, I may try. They're a little more fabric than what I would normally wear but they don't look too different in cut from a couple of the Doreanse ones I have. May give it a try!

How do these people who are disgusted with men's skimpy underwear even get involved in a discussion? Are they looking at skimpy underwear, reading about the styles, checking out forums, etc.? Just curious.

Re: Are they ashamed of their own products?
I would say, in no particular order...trolling, jealousy, envy...plus it's easy to make comments without actually TELLING someone. It's performative, but for no reason other than gratification. (I wonder how many of those commenters have or have had, or repeatedly have had a pack of Hanes string bikinis in their shopping cart, waiting for them to click the BUY button....)
I won't go into detail here, because I have written it elsewhere and I don't want to bore anyone with the same thing, but high school (and college somewhat) was the obvious one where I would get a lot of stares, even in the late 80s and early 90s. I guess there were "comments" too but the looks were certainly there too.

Re: Are they ashamed of their own products?
I've wondered about this too. In another thread over on the thong talk forum the OP posted a video from msn.com of a man doing a yoga pose wearing a thong. I went to MSN myself looking for it and it was buried so far down in that site I had a hard time finding the video. Yet the trolls came out of the woodwork to post negative comments calling him disgusting. It's almost as if there's a troll army scouring the internet for anything related to men's bikinis, thongs, or speedos ready to pounce lol!Madaboutuw wrote: Sat Jan 14, 2023 4:34 pm How do these people who are disgusted with men's skimpy underwear even get involved in a discussion? I think that the men who have taken the time to stop what they are doing to post negative comments on this video lack confidence in themselves as men, and they are insecure in their own sexuality. So to reinforce their own weak and fragile masculinity, they felt compelled to take the time to mock, ridicule and trash-talk in order to re-assure themselves that they are REAL men, and not a closet homosexual! It is their defense mechanism to hide their own insecurities, neuroses and lack of self-confidence.swimmer78 wrote: Mon Jan 23, 2023 1:26 pmI've wondered about this too. Re: Are they ashamed of their own products?
My feeling is that it is not the manufacturers /designers that are ashamed of their products and creations, but the retailers of these items. They seem to have bowed to whatever pressure that they feel compels them to not only stop selling thongs and tangas, in- store, but even delete them from their on-line offering. I can remember the mens underwear department in most UK clothes and chain stores having at least one choice of string bikinis alongside the briefs and boxers during the 80's and 90's. Most had a good range of thong underwear also. These items were simply on display with all the other styles with no fuss or bother. On several visits to various of these underwear departments, I overheard (mostly late teen, early 20's ) females discussing buying thongs for their boyfriends or husbands, and recall seeing them putting the chosen items in their baskets. the only time I heard a woman comment on a string bikini brief in a negative way, was when her female friend told her she would pick up a few more pairs for her husband. The other woman commented that her own husband liked them, but they weren't up to his treatment because they kept tearing the stitches at the seam between the waistband and the front panel. I also recall All styles of mens underwear (including thong and tanga briefs) being displayed on mannequins high up on shelves above the clothing racks.
The shops had no problem with displaying and selling them before, and if they still sold them, they would still sell many, and make a good profit from the sales. The sway of opinion against men wearing skimpier styles of underwear seems similar to the once popular and plentiful choice of buying a diesel powered car in Europe, or driving a large 4X4 in a city . due to political change etc, peoples opinions become negative towards these things , and the sheeple unfortunately treat the free thinkers as social lepers. Fortunately though, Garages still sell diesel cars and large 4X4's (although they are much more discreet about it with their advertising nowadays), And Mens skimpier styles of underwear are still made and sold in huge numbers , though not on display in shops where people might be browsing and be tempted to try, or at least become conditioned to seeing them alongside the more traditional styles. I wear my thong underwear every day. I change at work twice a day in front of colleagues in the locker room without any problems. ( a few humorous comments at first) but people got used to it after realising that my underwear wasn't going to harm them. I wear my bikini swim trunks on the beach and behave in an appropriate manner .I have never once had any comment either positive or negative made within earshot at least. It is up to the people that want to wear their own choice of underwear/swimwear, drive a diesel car or large 4X4 without being forced into a corner by drone like sheeple
that are either without conviction, or courage to make their own choices. I suppose the large retailers have to bow somewhat to the pressures brought on by the political will of governments . I see the current trend is for women to be empowered, and men to be the opposite. Perhaps there is something about men wearing underwear or swimwear other than shorts based styles that is seen as bucking that trend ? not sure to be honest. Whenever I am out buying clothes, I always make a point of asking an assistant if they sell tanga or thong briefs. It is my way of keeping the foot in the door so to speak. the last time I bought some thongs from an actual shop was Selfridges in Oxford Street London about 5 years ago. not sure if they still stock them, live too far away now. sorry for the length of this, just trying to put it all into context. If you got this far, Thankyou for reading.

RE: Jockey, Hanes, FTL, etc. You really have to dig deep to find any references to bikinis, string bikinis, sport briefs, thongs on their social media Pages sometimes you have to go back over 2 or 3 years of posts to find anything so yes I do agree that these men are actively seeking and searching for posts regarding any skimpy underwear made by these companies specifically so they can mock tees and troll them which shows to me that they suffer greatly from an inferiority complex and they're also envious of men who wear these Styles because what they see is freedom that those men have and enjoy that they are denied because their own social stigmas will not let them where bikinis or thongs because they are afraid of what their wife or their girlfriend or their Social Circle or their gym Buddies may think of them and then they're also afraid of being openly mocked and teased and ridiculed by their friends and family over wearing bikinis and thongs so while they want to be us they can't so they lash out an anger because they can't have what we have which is confidence and freedom and happiness!Microbikiniman wrote: Thu Dec 08, 2022 3:55 pm JSD, I enjoyed your post and just had to comment!
