This resembles what Jockey sold as Jockettes here (AU). Pure nylon, and probably a bit coarser than modern nylon, but they were great. This is the style that got me started in string bikinis, though these were not true string sides. Like everything else, though they were great sellers for them, and easily available in stores, the style eventually ended and it was onto other brands for my underwear. Here, Jockey never gained prominence again in underwear after this. They became known for large styles of underwear and singlets.
