UK Public Swimming Pools (not private, gym or hotel pools)

For those who are from the UK, do any of you wear thong swimwear to your local public swimming pool / leisure centre?
And if so, what has been your experience?
I'm from SW England and am looking to progress from my usual briefs to a thong for lap swimming. I sense it wouldn't be an issue as I swim during school time (so it's only older adults swimming) plus I am only ever seen when walking between the changing room and the pool which is a 10 second walk?! It would be a conservative black thong looking like a Speedo from the front (like a desmit style).

I wouldn't wear a thong to swim in a public pool, briefs totally as they are a universally accepted swimming garment (even if not universally worn), but I think a thong could make others at the pool feel uncomfortable

I've swum in a thong in Highgate men's pond and the outdoor pool at Oasis sports centre in London. Also sunbathed in a thong in a few London parks, incidentally. Anyone else London-based?

How about law and regulation about indoor public pools in UK (and any other place if you know)?
It's allowed, depends on place, not allowed but tolerated...?

Generally the rules say something like "must wear approrpiate swimwear", so it's ambiguous. But I think it's got to be fine for guys to wear thongs anywhere women are wearing them.

I like to push it as far as I can so I usually wear a low cut bikini with narrow sides and a enhancing pouch, I keep the thongs for the beach or a private pool. Whilst women can wear thongs in some Public Pools, I have never seen a guy in one.

My pool doesn't like thongs. I wear a Kiniki Cuba or tan-through tanga. Ther're both pretty skimpy but have enough coverage to be pool-acceptable, and they also stay on securely when doing tumble turns.
