I’ve had mixed reactions. Nobody’s had the balls to confront me, but I’ve heard a couple small gasps or double-takes. I try not to make a big scene about it. Just change my clothes and keep going.

I wear a thong to the gym for working out and as I change for the day. I’ve had a couple times of stares or comments but this is what I choose to wear and will not cater to what society says a guy should wear.

I wear thongs to the gym and to Pilates studio, underneath uncovered leggings and shorts, depending on the activity.
For me, there wasn’t any “start”, I just wore them because Ithey replaced older/worn underwear that I was in the process of phasing out.
If you’re nervous, I would focus on doing two things:
1. Face your locker the entire time when changing in and out of your thong. Don’t look to the sides. Reduce your use of peripheral vision. This will reduce your chances of seeing other reactions (if any) and keep you focused on #2 tip.
2. Don’t spend any extra time being just in your thong than necessary. Ex. Have your shorts/pants out of your bag and ready to put on immediately after your underwear is on.

I only wear thongs so def wearing at the gym. I swim and wear a swim thong under my speedo as well, so when changing, off with one thong, on with another. I have caught some people looking but even without the thong on I have thong tanlines so either way they can see. I just act normal and as long as I do that nobody seems to notice or at least nobody says anything.

Many of us have some irrational fear of being seen in a thong in the locker room. After years of walking around my gym locker room 5 days a week in a thong I can insist that your fear is unfounded. No one cares. I have zero negative experience. I even swim laps at the public pool in a thong swimsuit. Again, no negatives. Don't overthink. That will stoke your fear. Act natural and just do it.

I started wearing thongs because I wanted something more comfortable on under my compression shorts. I have switched over to wearing thongs all the time.

The gym I go to has private changing rooms designed for one person, so I don't have to change in front of others. That being said, I am not afraid to show off my thong in the locker room or in the changing room. I really think people generally do not care.
Also, I see so many VTLs (visible thong lines) at the gym, so I feel like it is okay for me to wear a thong while I am working out.

Exactly!
