New underwear from Hanes

Post by JustSomeDude71 »

I was at Wal Mart last week and they have started carrying a new string bikini from Hanes:

They look nice and sexy, have any of you tried them yet? they are six string bikinis for about $17.00. Pretty economical. I read the reviews on WalMart.com from men that have tried them and no negative comments!

Nice to see another main stream brand selling the string bikini. I think they could have done a better job representing them on the model. Looks like he is wearing a pair too big for him or something.Says they are available at my local store though I haven't been inside it, since the stay at home order took effect here. Appear to be pretty similar to the Life by Jockey ones. Thanks for sharing the find. Hopefully it will catch some guys' or their wives's' eyes while shopping at Walmart.

I have to find something new, now that I'm boycotting China. I was buying all of my underwear from there. No more! #PlanDemic #ScamDemic

History tells us that this won't last long. Over the past 20-30 years Hanes, Fruit of the Loom, Jockey, Calvin Klein and other mainline manufacturers will make good quality bikini and string bikini underwear (and sometimes even thongs) and then suddenly change the design or just stop making them altogether. I have always been of the thought that, if someone is doing something right or making something well, to tell them. It really does make a difference! If they know that people like what they are making, they are less likely to discontinue it or change it.

Back in the 1990, Jockey made really good quality string bikini briefs, but after a few years, they changed their design and it was not as good. Now they don't make good string bikinis anymore. If your hips are over 40 inches, they don't fit! A lot of men can't wear Jockey underwear anymore because they stopped making bigger sizes.

If someone's making something you like, tell them!

Hi Nate. I see what you mean about the picture of the model. He is a lot slimmer than the muscular guys that you normally see modelling underwear/swimwear,but even they would have a job filling out that bikini. It certainly looks like an XXL size on him,but I wouldn't be surprised if the bikini has been superimposed onto his body. I think the back picture in particular looks odd and is anything but flattering to his butt! It certainly wouldn't encourage me to buy these without seeing them in the flesh.

I think it is superimposed! You can see where the bikini if a bit blurry in certain areas, like they tried to modify the size of his package (which looks like it missing from some angles) One would think that they took a picture of a woman wearing string bikini panties and then tried to photoshop it onto a male model.

That seems to be one of the great things about the internet companies - although there are Chinese brands many make their items at home or are made in another country. Brands I have tried are:

UK: Kiniki
Colombia: Cover Male / Daniel Alexander (may have changed, it's been a few years since purchasing from them)
Germany: Tangaland, Boy Strings
Thailand: Groovin Store
Japan: TXM
USA: Something Wild In California

So a company might have its products manufactured outside its home country, but none I have tried have been made in China. That was a surprise for me with my early internet purchasing.

I picked up a pack of these at Walmart a few weeks ago. I guess they quit carrying the Life Jockey string bikinis? I wore those for years and was curious to see how these compared. I like them a little better than the Jockey string bikinis. The material of these feels better. I bought the medium which is a bit of a downsize because the back is so full. They are fun and and sexy to wear. The strings are a little tight on my hips in the medium.

I agree with JustSomeDude and Tanga about the model looking terrible! They either did a bad photoshop job or had a woman model this bikini and superimposed it onto the guy. He has no bulge showing at all. They practically neutered the guy. I guess showing a real man with a cock and balls would be too offensive to Walmart's shoppers lol.

I decided to splurge and spend $15 on some basic bikinis while on a recent Walmart run. To be honest all I have done is try on the green pair and I have mixed emotions. Like others have said the style is close to the Jockey Life but the material is a little bit more stretchy, I assume since it isn’t 100% cotton. I bought a large and the waist is good but there is too much material in the rear. I am going to try to wash and dry on hot to see if they shrink any. They are nice “starter” bikini and not bad considering 6 pair for $15. Since they are a little baggy maybe these would be good to sleep in.
Update - I did wash and dry on hot to try and shrink them a little. They are still kind of baggy and very basic. And the design doesn’t give great support.

I recently purchased some of these bikinis from my local Walmart. I thought I would buy some , and support Walmart for stocking them on their shelves. Though I would have to say I wasn't the only one that has bought them , being they were out of a couple of sizes . Its been a while since I have worn Hanes string bikinis , the last ones I had were a wider waist band with their name of them. Overall I think these are decent string bikinis , a great starting point for someone looking to try bikinis. The medium fit good , comfortable for daily wear. I wish these had a 3/4 quarter back or maybe not as tall of back to them. I have other string bikinis that are definitely better. I am glad to see a store put them on their shelves and would probably purchase more if needed.
