One of the rare times a person complained about my wearing a thong while swimming laps, I told him the managers said it's allowed. I tried to reason with the person, but there is no reasoning with someone that throws a moral high ground. I also feel much more efficient swimming because it helped me float better. When you can feel your legs and butt at the top of the water instead of underwater, you swim better.

AND men wearing thongs will be more accepted. A win for all... :D

Thongs get rid of unnecessary material and are therefore far more comfortable to move around in. I could never go back to shorts.

It is difficult to argue your case if the other person considers wearing a thong at the pool to be indecent exposure. Also, the rules are not clear. I frequently see the phrase, "Appropriate swimwear is required", but that raises the question: what is considered inappropriate and how can that be consistently determined?

Agree, which is why I hope this community works to "normalizing" thongs.

Me too! Nobody says a word when a woman wears a cheeky bikini, but a guy wearing a cheeky bikini (or thong) at the same beach, gets stares, frowned at or even "Hey, that's not appropriate here..." :(
