Large men like to feel sexy too

Time to rant

I suppose I would describe myself as the average American man when it comes to body type... I'm a big guy. I blame it on my genes. I have never looked like a Calvin Klein underwear model... even when I was an active younger man 30 years ago... and chances are, I never will. I have a 48-inch waist and when it comes to shopping for underwear, there is not much for me to choose from when it comes to the bikinis, thongs and string bikinis that I have enjoyed wearing since I was 15.

Us big guys like to enjoy our underwear too! I like to wear skimpy, sexy undies for the delight and pleasure of my woman, just as you men with more athletic build do also. Why is it that underwear manufacturers haven't figured this out yet? Yes, there are a few manufacturers out there that have caught on and make bikinis, thongs and string bikinis for men that I am able to wear comfortably ... unfortunately those big & tall sizes are going to cost a little more, and paying $25+ for one pair of underwear is not something I will do! I just don't feel that it's fiscally responsible!

I know that there are other men out there who feel the same way as I do and a lot of us larger men have had to resort to wearing plus size women's panties because we refuse to surrender to spending life in boring, mundane Y-Front briefs (I call them Granny Panties for men), or boxer briefs. Jockey makes a line of panties called "No Panty Line Promise" offered in a selection of hi-cut, bikini and string bikini styles. They are passable as men's underwear and do come in neutral colors (black, white, blue, beige, etc.). When you read the reviews on Jockey's website, you will see more reviews from men than you do from women. I have worn these panties in the past but have since found a selection of men's briefs made in China that fit well, are very comfortable and affordable:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3259593 ... 2e0eBq9P1B

They are a little over $3 per pair, which is a bargain compared to what's offered by Jockey and Calvin Klein, which by the way, don't make anything in the way of men's underwear that fits me!

The only downside is that you are ordering from China, so it takes up to 8 weeks for your underwear to arrive.

When it comes to women's underwear, there are literally hundreds of companies out there that offer bikinis, string bikinis, thongs and g-strings for big, plump, plus-sized fat women... but almost nothing for men. When you're a big-sized man that prefers to wear bikinis and thongs, underwear shopping is no easy task! it can take hours to find something online that fits and isn't $40 for one pair of underwear! Brick and mortar stores have nothing!

You are correct that men's underwear is lacking in the larger sizes. Tim at Underwear News Briefs has discussed that topic throughout the years. Unfortunately off hand I don't have any good recommendations to help you find reasonably priced ones with reasonable shipping times. I checked a couple places and they go up to 2XL, but those say up to 42". I know people custom make bikinis and thongs out there, but those are in the more expensive price categories you mentioned. Thanks for sharing with others some options you have found. Maybe someone has some more options they will share. Keep wearing what you enjoy!

In the fantasy world of social media, particularly sites like Instagram and Tumblr,it is easy to believe that all guys are blessed with a body like a CK model i.e muscular, six pack, buns of steel and a manhood that would be the envy of a porn star. The reality is that most of us have to make do with what we've got,but that shouldn't exclude us from wearing the g-strings,thongs,string bikinis etc so beloved by the beautiful body brigade.

Unfortunately, the days of finding skimpy undies of ANY size in our local menswear shops have sorely diminished,or disappeared altogether. Thankfully, the internet allows us to purchase the types of sexy attire that you'd never find in your local department store.

Whenever a subject like this comes up,I am reminded of a guy who I often see when I'm on holiday in Sicily. He is a big,big man,but boy does he rock the tiny speedos he loves to wear at the beach.

I think your best bet for finding the undies you like in extra large size is still China. I know the delivery times can be snail paced, but the postage is very reasonable and the goods are a fraction of the price you'd pay locally. Once you find a style that you are comfortable with, you could buy larger amounts safe in the knowledge they will fit you. Good luck!

I think that if they can make thongs and bikinis for plus-sized women, with hundreds of brands and choices to choose from, they can do it for men too. A woman that weighs 400 pounds can go into Wal Mart and buy bras and panties that will fit her quite comfortably, but a man with a waistline exceeding 42 inches and weighing more than 200 pounds? Forget it, Wal Mart has nothing for you! We have to go to a big & tall menswear store and spend 3-4 times more for clothes that fit. And menswear stores typically offer nothing in the way of men's bikinis and thongs.

JustSomeDude71, I saw a bigger guy rockin a tiny skinzwear speedo at the pool and he looked great in it. His waist size was somewhere around 40 inches possibly (more or less) BTW, buffedbod.com has 2XL and 3XL sizes...

Ok as a larger guy here is a question on sizing. When purchasing a bikini or thong do you find that you have to purchase a smaller size than you would a pair of jeans?

Welcome to the forum!
It's hard to compare such different items when it comes to sizing. With jeans you have skinny, slim fit, regular, comfort etc and your inside leg and waist measurements are important too. With a bikini, you can probably get away with a smaller size, and lots of bigger guys can and do really rock a skimpier style. When it comes to thongs it is probably better to err on the side of caution. If you pick one that is on the small side, the chances are the under strap will be too tight and will become very uncomfortable in a short space of time. A rule of thumb(or should that be bum)is that you should barely be aware that you are wearing one.If that isn't the case, then go up a size until you feel just right.

As a smaller male, not when I was younger. I have worn 75-80 underwear all my adult life, and still do so comfortably, but have upped the size of the trousers/jeans over the years as the waist has expanded. 92 is the trouser size now. (Just in case this difference in clothing sizes is not common, underwear here is in even 5 cm, but trouser sizing added two cm quite some years ago, still in 5 cm increments).

Recently Wal Mart has started carrying a new line of bikinis and string bikinis offered by Hanes. They come in sizes of up to 3X (48-52 inches)
Thank you Hanes, for finally waking up to a bigger (no pun intended) market and expanding your sales base!

Well all I have to is that us bigger guys have a hard time finding good bikini or thong underwear. I've tried CK, Jockey, male power, even the jflife and hanes. All the problems I've had with these brands was they rolled down at the waistband, especially when you are walking around. Having to adjust them in the middle of grocery shopping is a pain in the ass.
A friend and I were shopping at Walmart and she was looking at the jeans in the men's department and asked what size do I wear. I told her. Nothing was my size. So we moved on. And we get to the women's department and they had section of plus size clothing. I'm looking at jeans from 1x to 6x and everything from regular fit to skinny fit. She looks at me and asks if I want to try some on.
So to make a long story short I did, they fit and they are so comfortable. After that I went back and bought four more pairs of pants and I did a little foray into the panty section and found me some underwear that my friend recommended. They are very comfortable and there is no problem of my goods fallen out. I went walking in them for my two mile walk and they didn't roll down or slip down. They did ride up but I like that giving me a cheeky look and feel.
So I guess I can close my epic rant by saying that in general clothing companies need to get over their discrimination of fat people. Especially underwear companies or designers. I get that they look better on a fit body but you are not going to see me wear them in front of you.

P.s. I tried the hanes bikini briefs in a 3x size they were like wearing a full size brief. They were tight in the front and baggy in the back. No thanks. I'll keep my panties on for now until someone designs good fitting bikini underwear for my size.
